The highlight of my visit? Without a doubt, the paleta de cordero (lamb shoulder). Cooked to perfection—slow, tender, and falling off the bone—it was rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The meat practically melts in your mouth, with just the right touch of seasoning to let the quality of the lamb shine. It’s the kind of dish that speaks to the soul of Aragón’s culinary heritage.

But it doesn’t stop there. The rest of the menu is equally impressive, with carefully prepared dishes using local ingredients, a great wine selection, and beautiful presentation throughout. The service was attentive and kind, making us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish.

Acogedor restaurante con bonita decoración en el casco histórico de Calatayud al que he acudido en numerosas ocasiones pero que hacía tiempo no lo visitaba. Recomiendo reservar ya que pese a ser bastante grande estaba hasta la bandera. Y tengo entendido que suele ser así siempre.

Fuimos a cenar varios amigos y recojo un poco las impresiones del grupo. Tenían disponible el menú de semana santa a un precio de 26€. Al final con los cafés acabamos pagando 28€.

El trato fue amable y el servicio muy bien. Los camareros están atentos y controlaron el timing entre platos correctamente. Luego nos invitaron a chupitos de limonada. De hecho, tuvimos que modificar la reserva y no hubo ningún problema, muy simpáticos.

En lo referente a la comida, todo estaba muy rico y con buena presentación pero me gustaría matizar varios aspectos con los que no quedamos del todo satisfechos. Cómo aperitivo sacaron olivas y pan con alioli. Fuera del menú nos ofrecieron un revuelto de morcilla, con queso de cabra y cebolla caramelizada el cuál estaba buenísimo pero la ración era muy escasa para un menú de 26€. Los canelones de pularda confitada con trompeta negra y bechamel de PX, estaban muy ricos pero apenas venían 3 canelones. Ración escasa. Con la tarta de queso, el mismo problema, un sabor espectacular (quizá la base de galleta sabía demasiado a canela) pero era un triángulo muy pequeño. Con los escalopines de solomillo de cerdo con salsa gorgonzola no tengo tanta queja en ese sentido. La cantidad era más acorde. También un plato muy bueno, las patatas que acompañaban eran crujientes y sabrosas. Me gustaron mucho. Todo lo que señalo creo que se puede ver reflejado en las fotos que adjunto.

En resumidas cuentas, el menú de semana santa tiene un precio desorbitado para lo justos que vienen los platos. Si eres de buen comer, te quedarás con hambre. También hay que entender que era un día festivo y los restaurantes aprovechan para subir los precios pero cuidando un poco más esos detalles hubiera sido un...

My absolute favorite restaurant in Spain. Hands down a must stop if you are driving from Madrid towards the north of Spain. Affordable menu of the day, traditional Spanish dishes with a modern twist. The cod is always good, during the summer the Salmorejo is a must. The apple pie is delicious. Highly recommend. Parking is a bit tough, suggest you head towards the sports complex (polideportivo) and walk over....
