Restaurante Mosselhuis. — Restaurant in Calp

We made a table reservation for dinner at 8 p.m. We did it in person five days in advance. The restaurant is famous for serving mussels. When we arrived we waited 15 minutes for the waitress to come up to us. When she finally came to us she said that if we didn't have a 'mussels ' booking then they were gone for us. We ask how is this possible? Why didn't anyone warn us when we were booking our table that we still had to book our food? What is it about? We heard that today it was so and so! They ruined our anniversary . We specifically booked in advance and in person. The staff didn't care. They had us for nothing. I will never go there again. Not recommended. They're only friendly to a select few and it's a simple bistro in a side street. Plus a terrible wine...

The food is excellent. All beautifully prepared and presented. The cook and staff are very accommodating. We visited three times on our last holiday in Calpe. Because of popularity we booked each time and especially for weekend. Staff try their best but restaurant can be very busy so we enjoyed the atmosphere sipped our wine and were patient. This only happened once on a very busy Friday night. Remember to state if you want mussels when booking. We took our friends on the last visit and they also enjoyed their meals. The set three course meal choices are very good value for the quality. We will return and bring more friends. Thank you George...

😩😩MIJN ERVARING, GEWOON SCHANDALIG SLECHT, IN JAREN NIET MEEGEMAAKT!!! Ik nam als voorgerecht kaaskroketten (13€), daar was niks ambachtelijks aan, gewoon gekochte diepvries kroketten, en opgediend binnenin nog wat bevroren in het midden, geserveerd met wat gemengde sla, half uitgedroogd en zonder dressing, droog vanuit het zakje. Gedecoreerd met wat valse geraspte kaas, smaakloos. Wanneer men met het bestek kwam voor de hoofdschotel, duwde de serveerster met het bestekmes, mijn bril weg die op tafel lag. Het hoofdgerecht, ossentong in madeiresaus(15,50€), zolang opgewarmd, vermoedelijk in de microgolf dat het vlees taaier was dan mijn schoenzool, en de saus was heel waterig, vloeibaar geworden., gewoon niet te vreten!!!!! Wanneer men de borden kwam ophalen, zag men nog een halfvol bord, vroeg men zelf niet of het lekker was, wel vroeg men of ik nog een dessert wou, ik zei dat het niet de moeite loont, maar toch nog steeds vroeg de serveerster niet hoe het eten was. Wanneer we afrekenden, bedankte de serveerster ons zelf niet, en de bazin (Ann), ging aan alle tafels groeten, sloeg bewust onze tafel over om de confrontatie te vermijden en bleef nog wat nakletsen aan de tafel links van ons . Wanneer je de confrontatie vermijdt, dan weet je dat het fout zit, erger nog, dan ontloop je je verantwoordelijkheid en zie je de klant NOOIT meer terug !!!!Ook de tafel rechts van ons, een Engelse dame met twee kinderen vertelde ons dat het helemaal niet lekker is. Een goede raad, WEGBLIJVEN, want je krijgt een goeie rekening gepresenteerd voor wat diepvriesrommel, service 0, eten 0, sfeer 0= een tafel met versleten geplastificeerde tafelbekleding van 40jaar...
