Restaurante Tango Playa Arenal — Restaurant in Calp

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome right from the start. The ambiance was beautiful, and the menu had an impressive variety of global dishes, ensuring there was something for everyone.

The location of the restaurant was perfect, and being close to the beach added to the overall appeal. We decided to try their loaded nachos, and they were fantastic! The nachos were packed with different flavors, making each bite a delightful experience.

We also ordered the Tango salad, and it was a great choice. The salad had an array of ingredients, offering a delicious mix of flavors and textures. The variety in the salad made it stand out, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Had a few drinks and tapas to try it out: Sangria was a little on the sweet side but nice. The calamari was a little stringy, which means it was mostly likely from frozen packets. Batas bravas were cooked nicely, however slightly ruined, in my opinion, with a Mexican spiced sauce over the top, which is not traditional for Batatas Bravas. Menu didn't state how spicy this would be, considering I have tried many other Batatas Bravas before.

The service was also friendly but not consistent. The staff here appear to be more interested in laughing and talking with their colleagues and a street seller than customers. When it came to customers, they appear to want to clear your table to get rid of you to make more money. We stopped for a leisurely lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is nice and relaxing with good views over the beach and Calp Rock (Ifach).

Service was good, friendly and efficient.

We opted for menu of the day which at 10.90 was good value - portions aren’t huge but that suited us perfectly. To start we had tuna salads with toasted baguette and allioli. We were also given the most awesome olives. My wife opted for a steak and mushroom sauce, little bit tough but tasty. I went for the merluza (hake) nicely cooked with mash. That we followed up with homemade cake.

Drinks weren’t included but were reasonable and good.

There might be better food out there but the combination of the service, setting and food made this a worthwhile place for lunch.
