Origin Palmanova — Restaurant in Calvià

We hosted our pre-wedding welcome party in July at The Origin, the night before our wedding day and we are so glad we did — it was absolutely perfect from start to finish!

In the lead-up to the event, we’d been in contact with Mark and Christine, who were both so helpful and friendly. They responded quickly to all our emails and made the whole planning process feel really easy and relaxed. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble and their communication was brilliant throughout.

The venue itself is just beautiful - set right by the beach with the most gorgeous views and such an effortlessly cool atmosphere, chilled with an upbeat and stylish vibe. It had everything we wanted and more. We organised for our friends and family to receive a welcome cocktail on arrival, which went down so well and added such a lovely touch to the evening. The cocktail list was displayed beautifully at the entrance and we also arranged for drink tokens so guests could enjoy either a beer or a cava, which everyone really appreciated. The drinks were delicious, the music created such a great vibe and honestly - the whole setting was breathtaking.

The staff were outstanding - so kind, hardworking and had great energy. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely looked after and their attentiveness throughout the night didn’t go unnoticed. We hired a private area which worked brilliantly - lots of space to sit, chat and socialise with our friends and family in a really comfortable, relaxed setting.

As soon as we found The Origin online, we had a feeling it was going to be the perfect place to start our wedding celebrations. It exceeded all of our expectations and we all had such a fantastic night.

Our 2nd visit in 3 days to this slice of heaven in Palmanova. Thanks again to Woody, Mark & Christine for another great meal & cocktails. After being greeted like we’d only been away a few days since our last visit last year, we had a front line seat & table as the sun went down. Our new favourite of Black pepper calamari was still as good as the last visit, fake tartar was super fresh & perfect heat level and presented professionally, accompanied by the great pungent truffle fries (the best we have had on the island so far) & our regular sticky ribs which did deliver! Recommended citrus grapefruit cocktail (great choice Christine! & a non alcoholic sangria later (sangria didn’t miss the alcohol at all!) we followed with a baked Alaska that was both light, fruity & rich all in one mouthful. The biggest mistake restaurants seem to make is lack of consistency and yet Origin are doing a great job of consistently high quality great tasting food that is as expected and delivered every time. I come from a food & service industry background and can appreciate more than most the amount of hard work that goes into running this kind of place. We absolutely loved this place. The roof top bar gives it such a lovely feel as you look out over the Mediterranean as the sun went down and the trees lit up purple. The food was unreal, my wife had a fillet steak with pepper corn sauce which, in here words was up there in the top 5 steaks she has ever had! Melted in her mouth. It came with crispy onions green peppers ,vine tomatoes and she added truffle parmesan fries to finish the dish. I had the steak and mushroom pasta which was delicious. Desert we had the cookie dough with a pink .marshmallow and peanut butter ice cream, this was unreal, a taste sensation in our mouthes. We washed all this down with a reasonably priced bottle of rose wine. You normally have a little time slot of around 1.5 hours but we were enjoying the ambience so much we asked a member of staff with a blue shirt. (I give this description of him because i didn't catch his name. He was lovely a really friendly guy who made us feel so welcome and deserved little recognition) if we could stay for a little longer and stay for a cocktail.
