This restaurant is Islamophobic. I’m from the uk and I’m a Muslim and I was with 3 of my friends and we’ve come on a holiday to Spain. Certain corner shop restraints had surprisingly been halal and when I say surprisingly as in I was very prepared to be vegetarian for the week. So when we went for my friends bday dinner I thought it was worth a shot asking but again I didn’t expect or mind I would’ve happily had fish and chips or vegetarian pizza. The guy (I think it’s the owner as later on he claimed my resteraunt) expressed yes here everything is halal in kind of an overexaggerated tone. So we sat down I wasn’t sure if his response was a joke or not so I asked a different lady just to check. He comes over and starts going really mockingly do you know what halal is ? He said this several time. Then proceeds to give his opinion on what it is whilst mocking religious words like alhamdullilah. Then said we in Spain we treat are animals good and with love so no we don’t do halal if you want halal food go to iraq Afghanistan or Iran. I was shell shocked all I did was ask a question a simple no would’ve been fine. And he is entitled to his opinion on which way of killing an animal is cruel or not cruel but if someone dressed up to come to a fancy resteraunt you don’t need to insert your opinion onto their evening to mock them. And his remark about the Arabic countries just almost seemed a like telling me I’m not wlecome in Spain when the restraunt next door to this I think it’s called beach hut does do halal chicken and was wonderful. I’m from England which has plenty of halal food so does Portugal. It’s not just this specific stereotypical countries he’s decided to list. His attitude was off. He went on food a good 7 minutes and was very patronising. A simple no could’ve sufficed and he would’ve got customers as im not fussed to eat...
Read moreWe visit for the first time this restaurant and I booked it, after reading all the reviews, for my partner's birthday. We arrived there with 5 mins before our booking and we were taken to our table. I would say it has a nice view; the waiter number 1 (think it was the manager) came to our table, ask my partner if it was his birthday, shake hands and then took our order for drinks. I asked which drink from the menu is cider and he told me the flavours instead. The 2nd waiter came to take our food orders; starters were potatoes with a sauce on them and my partner had chorizo with potatoes, which were nice but nothing wow. Once we finished, the 3rd waiter came and asked if the food was ok, we said yes and order some Coke but he proceed to ask again about the food with an attitude. The 2nd waiter came with the mains, we went for a steak. The steak was ok, if it wasn't done on grill, it would of been very blunt and even though I asked for medium-well done, it was brought rare to medium. The 3rd waiter came again to take our plates and I don't think I have ever seen anyone been so miserable and again asking if the food was ok. I understand the questions but if you don't want to ask the question, is fine too. We decided to not have desert and just pay after only 45-50 minutes from our booking. After we payed and we stood up to leave, the 1st waiter (manager) came to ask if we want a glass of champagne, when we were leaving!!!!!! I have to say the experience was very disappointed especially that I wanted my partner to enjoy a nice meal for his birthday. The reviews are good but I have been to other places where the staff were happy to be there and very nice; I wouldn't say don't go is just for...
Read moreMe and my partner were looking for restaurants with vegan options and we found this one. So I will give 2 stars for multiple reasons. Today one of your waitresses went to our table and I asked her for the menus and she said we needed to use the QR codes to access it. I told her that I did not like to use QR codes and she did a sarcastic laught and asked "you don't like them?" and I said no and she left. I noticed she went to collect the normal menus and i am certain she made a comment about me not liking this technology with her colleague because the colleague also did that sarcastic smile. Now one point I would like to make: not everybody agrees and likes this type of technology and your staff needs to accept that. Not everybody agrees that we need to use the phone for everything including asking for food in a restaurant. Staff needs to remember that today costumers see the menu using their phones, but maybe in the near future we may be able to see and order online and do you know what that means? Waitresses will not be needed and when you loose your job, you will not laught. So I recommended the staff to laugh less to those who refuse to go along with the QR codes. Secondly, although the salad was actually good, the price/quality is ridiculous. I paid 16 euros for a salad and my partner paid 18 euros just because he added hallumi in his salad. We noticed after we left the restaurant that next door you could eat a vegetable paella for 15.5 euros, so I think you should review your prices because again although the salad was good, it is not...
