We decided to try here based on reviews and we left feeling really disappointed. Im unsure how this restaurant scores so highly, based on our own experience. It wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great. We were given complementary poppadoms to start with, which was a nice touch. Can’t go wrong with poppadoms. We ordered mixed pakora starter for 2. My piece of chicken tikka had a texture like rubber, and there was no pakora dip provided, which is a first. On the plus side, the veg pakora was nice. On taking away the plates from our starter we were asked to remove the cutlery, to be used for our main meal. I declined and asked for clean cutlery, which should be standard practice, and although this was provided, I shouldn’t need to ask. My chicken tikka sizzler was very disappointing. No tikka taste or charcoaled bits as expected with this meal, instead the chicken tasted as if it had been marinated in a sweet sauce and cooked in a pan. My partner’s chicken tikka masala was also a very sweet sauce, not similar in taste to the many other restaurants she has ordered this dish from. We were asked if the meal was nice and I gave honest feedback that it wasn’t to our taste. I wasn’t overly critical, as there is really no point. We were offered complimentary shots, which we declined and we paid the bill and left. Couldn’t fault the attitude of staff, they were welcoming and pleasant but the cutlery situation let them down. Obviously everyone has the own preference regarding taste. There are clearly lots who enjoyed their experience, based on reviews, however we weren’t and won’t...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Taste of India in Palmanova, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing, bursting with authentic flavors and vibrant spices that really transported me to India. What impressed me even more was the wide range of vegetarian options, which made it easy for me to find something I loved.
The highlight of the night, though, was the hospitality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The chef even took things to the next level by preparing a special dish on my request that wasn’t on the menu. It was a wonderful gesture that truly showcased their dedication to customer satisfaction.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. If you're looking for authentic Indian food in Palmanova with great service and plenty of veggie options, Taste of India is definitely the place to be!...
Read moreMe and my husband ate here yesterday, We live here so have tried most of the other Indian restaurants around, so thought we would give this new one a try. Firstly we were greeted by a lovely young lady who was very welcoming and helpful throughout the whole meal. The restaurant has been refurbished to a wonderful standard, beautiful decor, the most comfortable chairs. We opted for a set price meal, with plenty of choices of different starters and meals, this also came with free drinks of your choice. Firstly we had free complimentary poppadoms, then onion bhajis and chicken tikka sizzler, with the different sauces, all were very delicious. For mains I had a chicken bhuna( made to my preference) and my husband had lamb Rogan josh, with rice and naan bread, both meals were excellent, the lamb especially was so tender. All the staff were friendly and polite so we will definitely be back again in the...
