Warning: Dishonest and predatory booking practices — avoid these apartments at all costs.
These apartments are operated by Hotel Gabarda, and based on my experience, they cannot be trusted. What happened to us was not a simple mistake but a deliberate and unacceptable bait-and-switch.
I booked the Martínez Apartments — their more expensive option — nearly nine months in advance. The booking was fully confirmed, and I had chosen this property specifically because it suited my family’s needs. However, when I arrived to check in, I was told that our booking was “no longer available” and that we would instead be moved to the Naika Studios, a much cheaper and inferior property.
This was presented as a fait accompli. When I objected, the staff member made it clear that if I was not happy, I could “go find another hotel.” This was at the height of peak season, with my children standing next to me after a long journey. It created enormous stress and left us feeling trapped and mistreated.
This is not an isolated incident. A quick look at reviews across their associated properties — Hotel Gabarda, Naika Studios, and Apartaments Martínez — shows a clear pattern of similar behaviour. Guests report being downgraded without notice, shuffled around between properties, and given excuses at check-in that their booked accommodation was no longer available. In practice, this means the hotel is overselling the more desirable and higher-priced rooms, only to push guests into cheaper accommodation while pocketing the higher rate.
When I pressed the issue further, the staff member’s behaviour deteriorated even more. Instead of offering an apology or solution, they told me to “sush” — an insulting and dismissive response that underscores the complete lack of professionalism or hospitality.
I have lodged a formal complaint with Booking.com and strongly urge other travellers to do the same if they have experienced similar treatment. In my view, this is not just poor service; it is dishonest and predatory conduct that should not be tolerated in the hospitality industry.

Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were really friendly and helpful with all of our needs. The pool was area was a nice perk, and always kept clean. Our unit seemed recently renovated and was spacious enough for a group of 3. Kitchen was great, and had everything we needed. Bathroom was small, but it worked.
We were in a ground floor unit which was great since we did not have to carry luggage up stairs (there are no elevators in this property). The downside of a ground floor unit is no view whatsoever from the balcony except a wall but the balcony was still nice to have.
Location is great to be close to the action but not right in the middle of it (was always quiet at night) and anything you need is in walking distance (grocery store, restaurants, shops). We did have a car, and although there isn’t a designated parking area we never had trouble finding free street parking near by.
I would definitely stay here again based on the reasonable price and overall...
Read moreJust perfect! I was staying at an apartment with 1 bedroom with a view to the pool and two balconies. Everything was recently refurbished, the bed was super comfy (in this price category it's not usual), the apartment was immaculately clean and had everything one could need for a short stay (yes, even a toaster and a kettle). When I was staying there in May it was very quiet, I haven't noticed any clubs or anything nearby, so I assume it stays quiet most of the time. The bus stop is a 1 minute walk (several busses running to Palma or farther), there is a Lidl and a Mercadona just 5 minutes walk away and a nice little beach some 2-3 minutes walk away. That's not the prettiest beach of Mallorca, but it's still nice...
