Prik Thai — Restaurant in Cambrils

We went to the restaurant yesterday and we were greeted with nice welcome from friendly staff. After some time deciding on starters we were advises to order mixed platters. When mixed platter arrived the prawns in batter didn’t look or taste like they have been freshly cooked or the other items were pretty much the same. The main also didn’t taste fresh also but it was also the same. The sauce and smaller items were already made then they mixed with fresh prawns to give the fresh taste. This was agreed by all that we were not eating freshly cooked food. I would expect every item to be freshly cooked as that’s one of the reason we goto restaurants. A word of advice to the Thai owners is cook everything fresh even if it takes longer for food to arrive. No short cuts! Get more chefs and less...

Excellent Restaurant. We visited Prick Thai on 3 occasions during our recent holiday in Cambrils. The food was fresh and delicious. Its a little hard to find, so maybe they should use a location pointer on google maps to highlight their position. The only area where the restaurant could be improved is that the tables and chairs looked cheap, and if these were changed to a timber look, it would help the overall image greatly. Also, the signage outside is not adequate, which contributes to the difficulty in locating the restaurant. Prik Thai is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in the area, regardless of cuisine. Run by a Catalan guy and his genius chef Thai wife, everything is outstanding. The starters are all superb, especially the chicken sate with pickled chilli relish and peanut sauce and fried wontons. The pad Thai is the best version of that dish we've had outside of Thailand and the tom yum soup is hot, sour and loaded with fresh seafood.
