This is a restaurant that strives towards a gastronomic image, succeeds at certain points but sadly misses the mark at others, especially the service. We went as a fairly large group (six people) for a semi-casual dinner. We had booked a few hours prior and were happy to get a table. Three of us ordered the set menu and three had ordered mains and starters. While our waiter told us that the whole table didn’t have to order set menus, he was extremely pushy trying to upsell menu items to the point that it got uncomfortable. He did this throughout the meal, up until desserts: our friend wanted to order the mango sorbet and he kept pushing her to order another dessert for double the price. I get what’s going on, but this attitude really ruined the experience for us. The food in the set menu was good, especially for the price. We really enjoyed the “seabed” starter which looked and tasted amazing. The sea urchins were impressive and I would especially like to point out the cream of langoustine which was a delight, both visually and in terms of taste. Sadly, the restaurant’s specialties (the fishing boat appetizer and the paella main course) were average at best. The appetizer was ok, but it lacked substance beyond the presentation. The paella was sub par: soggy, badly seasoned rice.
Overall, our experience was OK, especially for the price, but if the restaurant wants to position itself as a gastronomic destination, it still has long ways to go, both in terms of the service...
Read moreWOW! Took my boyfriend here today for his birthday, we went for the €45 pp Menu and couldn’t believe what we got for the price. Not only was the service spot on, you are made to feel special, The head chef (possibly the owner) talks you through the dishes and the inspiration of some of them. I am English, but my boyfriend is Spanish and when he would translate I was so excited to try the food and get an insight of the story. What we loved most, is that we would never of picked the food in another situation but trying it made us love new food and flavours that we have never tried before!! Why always eat the same things when you can try something new? You can tell that food is art to this restaurant, 5 Star for everything. Thank you for the kind waiter too for giving us a high...
