While looking for our final meal of the holiday we came across this place on Google and were very confused as to how we hadn't seen it sooner being the great reviews.
On arrival the place was very very busy which is hard to do in such a huge resteraunt but that signifies just how good the food is, despite being busy a table was found for us with our pram and a high chair for baby.
The menu has a wide variety of foods and some great tapas style dishes alongside main meals.
We went for a selection of starters croquettes (as I always get) tomatoes and the toasted bread with tomatoes and garlic. I could go through each dish but to be honest every single one was very very tasty the croquettes absolutely delicious and the tastiest tomatoes.
The best starter however was the herminias pork in sauce which was so tasty and highly addictive it was pork cooked so tender with a pepper, wine and garlic sauce which was absolutely amazing and full of flavour honestly I could've had 2 myself.
For mains I had the octopus which was huge but cooked to perfection with a nice charred taste and a great potatoes puree, then my partner had the ribs again what can I say if you cook ribs correctly you end up with meat that falls off the bone and these did just that, add on the flavour of the sauce and you have perfection
Service was fantastic considering we had a fussy baby and a good...
Read moreI have been living in Cambrils for only one year. However, during many months my kitchen had to be remodeled so we ate out ALL THE TIME! There are many good restaurants in the area. Each is good for one or two things. This restaurant never misses! Everything is good. And for the people just visiting here and want to find a place that is open during siesta, this one remains open. My favorites are the mussels with Rosemary and Garlic the red bell pepper with cod and they have the absolute best croquetas with a nice piece of jamon iberico wrapped around them. Pan con tomate is popular in this area. But WOW! They toast it to perfection. You must try it also. Special shout out to Deborah for exceptional service. Don't worry, she speaks at least 3 languages. On a previous visit we also had the dame service and a tour if the restaurant from (sorry I forgot her name). a very nice Columbian woman. You will know her as she has red hair and very pretty glasses. Thank you Colombiana y Deborah!!! We will keep going there because of you. It is our favorite place close to the...
Read moreThe Paella de Mariscos was cooked with frozen products and overly salty. The Duck and Mushrooms paella had a stale aftertaste and we just left it uneaten, it was plain awful. For the Gambas al ajillo they also used frozen shrimps and the dish was served cold (it should be served sizzling hot).
Rude waiters, forgot to bring 3 out of 10 items we ordered at first . When they brought the check in the end one of the items they forgot to bring was even included. We made a remark and the waitress reaction was "sure, we'll just take it out and bring you a new check with the correct amount"... No apologies, or offering anything else. Basically just tried to overcharge us, but the trick didn't work out.
I am honestly surprised this place has such a high rating... it seems the majority of good reviews are old and from when it was under previous ownership.
There are plenty of much better places in Cambrills in terms of quality, and even cheaper. If you want good paella just go to the restaurant next door.
I will certainly not recommend it and would even advise...
