There are places that time forgets and others that remember us. Vora a small, quietly confident restaurant in the heart of Cambrils, is one of the latter. I first sat at one of its tables ten years ago, celebrating Christmas with friends & family. Since then, despite years exploring Asia’s & Europe’s Michelin-starred restaurants, I keep returning. Always here. Because here is where the soul of Catalan cuisine lives: unspoiled, unpretentious.
Let me be clear: stars matter. Technique, precision, ambition, they have their place. But sometimes the pageantry, the tweezers, edible flowers, hushed service can forget what food is truly meant to be: a story of place, people, memory. And that’s where Vora triumphs.
Run by Pol and his family, Its menu isn’t composed, it’s inherited. Vora’s identity is rooted in reverence, not spectacle. Food that doesn’t beg to be photographed but insists on being remembered.

Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into Vora, everything exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between elegant and relaxed. The staff were genuinely attentive and made us feel welcomed without being overbearing, a true example of excellent hospitality.
As for the food, absolutely outstanding. Each course was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. From the first bite to the last, everything was perfectly executed and left us wanting more. It’s rare to find a place where both food and service shine equally, but Vora delivered on both fronts.

Read moreEl sábado 1 de febrero reservamos mesa para 12 personas, todos mayores de 60 años. Viene el jefe de sala y nos dice que al ser tantos tenemos que hacer un pica-pica y pedir un segundo. Le respondemos que no queremos pica-pica y que vamos a pedir primero y segundo. Nos dice que tardaran más y insiste en el pica-pica. Le respondemos que no importa y que esperaremos. Nos dice lo que hay fuera de carta y de los 12, 9 pedimos alcachofas con almejas. Para nuestra sorpresa y en un tono desabrido nos dice que porque pedimos todos lo nismo etc. etc. A los 10 minutos nos traen los primeros platos y para nuestra sorppresa no son alcachofas con almejas sino con langostinos. Le decimos al camarero que se han equivocado de mesa y al momento aparece el jefe de sala que en teoria habia apuntado lo que le pedimos y en un tono bastante agresivo y alzando la voz nos dice que no que eso es lo que hemos pedido. Los nueve le respondemos que se han equivocado. Entonces empieza a levantar la voz y nos amenaza que ahora vendrá el dueño y nos enteraremos (Amenaza) Aparece el dueño con un cocinero y a gritos nos dice que nos marchemos, que no nos quiere en su restaurante y que salgamos por la puerta de atràs´la cual abre él mismo y a gritos hasta que salimos los doce, además intentamos razonar y de la manera que nos contestó decidimos desistir i incluso no pedir la hoja de reclamaciones.
