TripAdvisor thinks you should eat here. I don’t.
We went to this location (as I don’t think it should call itself a restaurant) to eat dinner. The waiter somehow managed to mess up my order of just sparkling water and brought me regular water. Stuff like that happens; it’s not a big deal but it was a warning of what was to come.
As a starter we ordered Pam amb oli which is a specialty of the region. And just like this region it presented itself as a rather simple dish. Two slices of wholegrain bread with sliced tomato and roasted vegetables on top. I didn’t particularly like it but to each their own.
But then the main course arrived. I had ordered a standard cordon bleu which was served with chunky fries and a sad excuse of a salad. It’s not that it wasn’t enough salad, it was the type of salad you get when the chef has a whole garden of vegetables to choose from but also problems with decision making that have started to affect his marriage. To be clear, if you like salad that has onions, tomatoes, corn, carrots, coleslaw, iceberg lettuce and what looks like the plastic plant you put on your hated mother in law‘s grave, then go have fun with this abomination of a side dish. The fries were so undersalted and dry that I couldn’t even be mad. I just felt sorry for the poor little things. The waiter did however bring a bottle of ketchup and a jar full of little bags of mayonnaise and mustard when I asked for some condiments to go along with the fries. All of my faint hopes of a French delicacy were crushed when I cut into the cordon bleu itself. The crust was even drier than the fries were which was something I definitely didn’t want. The meat was just as much lacking any liquid a meal should have and the cheese had a half liquid half solid consistency which reminded me too much of mucus as to not mention it. A disgrace!
As for the other dishes that were ordered: the burger was without salad, sauce or dignity and the beef roast salad managed to be dry even with the amounts of oil on it being so great I was afraid the Americans would start a war over it.
At least the desert of strawberry cake was good. That’s why I rate...

Read moreWe were pretty hungry by this time so we parked the car and walked through the deserted streets of Capdepera to the main square and sat down at L'Orient, a lovely restaurant with plenty of tables and parasols. It seemed a lot of the town was there too and we had a lovely and unhurried lunch - I actually had chicken and spinach burger which was delicious! Not cheap but nice food, nice service and...
