A very, very nice place.
I acted on the hunch to NOT go to a place where German music is playing: I'm German myself but places for Germans aren't good as many of my countrymen seem to have little interest in things that differ from what they're used to. Here there was international music playing and the flair wasn't perfect and hospital-style sterile. But that made it authentic.
We ordered baby cuttlefish and they came as crispy and tasty as they get at 13,50 EUR per dish. That's dirt-cheap but they tasted absolutely awesome. There was fresh cabbage on the plate without dressing which is good. In bad places you get pre-made nasty cocktail sauce from a wholesaler but here you can just use the olive oil and balsamico vinegar, together with a salt and pepper grinder to really make the fresh ingredients shine.
On top, you get baguette slices, together with a homemade aioli sauce, again not from a wholesaler and both for free. That sauce is very good. Oh, and good fries are included too.
I will definitely come back. This is my second vacation in Cala Rajada and this is the best place I've...
Read moreEncouraged by the positive opinions, we decided to take a chance. We ordered 2 x paella and a dish for a person with a milk allergy (grilled chicken + fries). To avoid misunderstandings - we wrote the order in Google translator indicating all the products that could not be included in the dish. The waiter confirmed that everything was clear. We waited a long time for the order, we got bread, pieces of fish and aioli - tasty. Unfortunately, the paella was very dry, the rice was hard, while the beans and peppers were overcooked. Two large shrimps - tasty, the mussels were disgusting. For the person with the allergy they brought a potato with butter!!! Upon request, they exchanged it for fries, but they tasted like they had been fried a week earlier. After this mistake, we had a lot of stress, not being sure whether, for example, butter had been added to the chicken by mistake. At the end, a huge cockroach ran across the floor next to us. Unfortunately - we cannot confirm the positive opinions, we are...
Read moreThis was our first time there but definitely not the last if we're ever in Mallorca again. This is not like any other restaurant. It's more like visiting a friend, even if you're there for the first time. The owner walking around, chatting with customers (knowing many of them by name - the tourists I mean). Speaking half Spanish, half German and just a little bit of English, he manages to communicate with basically everyone. Last but not least, the food. We ordered seafood paella and fried squid rings for the kids. The paella would normally be too big for 2 people but we just couldn't stop eating. It was just too good. Go and see for yourself and don't mind the looks as this place is not like any other fancy...
