Sadly situation happened in this place of business, almost expelled. Due to the current situation I am the lucky ones that continues their job, but remotely (homework). Me and my boyfriend usually go to this place once a week a couple of hours in the afternoon to change the routine, and we take a couple of coffees accompanied of a wonderful sun in Playa Honda. As we are aware of the situation, the first thing that we always do is to see if there are people sitting (we usually go from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), as it is a site frequented mostly by English people, as its owner, at this time is always empty. Even so we tryed to know if the tables are free or if they have a reservation, in that case they inform us about what time we should leave the table, because as it is logical we are not going to take a place for all the afternoon consuming a coffee when the people usually dinner early. But it's good for us to change the work routine and to him to sell some coffees (at coffee time) on a empty place. Today we were practically driven out. We arrived and asked if we could sit down, the woman kindly told us that she had the tables inside reserved from 5p.m, but other of outside were all free, so we sat outside in solitude in the most remote table to not bother. Around 4:30 p.m, we were in the middle of a conference work, and the owner of this bar came to interrupt ourselves to tell us that the table was reserved and that we need to leave. My boy asked if we could stay a little more because of the conference and he told us to left in a short time. And he said in a rude way that this place is not a cyber cafe and we had to go. There were free tables. I do not understand the lack of respect and VERY IMPORTANT he was talking with us without mask something mandatory in Spain regarding COVID-19. I tried to explain that I did not understand why I need to leave if were free tables, and that if I want to be with my computer taking a coffee I can do it (as someone that are using internet with a mobile phone). Maybe he is in the wrong country with those impositions (bad comment from my part and apologize for that but I started be angry because we were always treated as if we were bothering). He began to tell us that we can not be an hour taking a coffee, such he has to take his business forward. And I answered that he is absolutely right and for that reason if the place is full I don't take sit, I'm going anotherwhere or I stay at my house where I have Internet too and I can make the coffee myself. And he asked me, so if you have the internet at home why you come here? And I told him that is because I'm on homeworking and it makes me break with my routine, enjoy a coffee with the sun while I work. I think that if the place is empty in some way I am also contributing. And if I want go take a coffee and work with my computer I'm in my full straight, that's is clear in every place of the world. Ah, I charged my computer at home ofc. Well, I will not be back, but I want write this comment because we are in this life to learn and change, I hope that this situation never happens again. This place live from clients, clients that not only can take a coffee one afternoon a week a couple of hours, but that can leave their opinions on internet and this kind of sadly behaviour don't help...
Read moreBrambles Bar is a brilliant place if you are in the area. It caters for all and has spaces inside (with aircon) and outside (covered and uncovered). The proprietors are really nice people and very accommodating. The drinks are served quickly with a smile, the food is very reasonably priced and is excellent. My family and I tried a variety of the dishes over the 10 day stay and had no complaints whatsoever, on the contrary we found some of the dishes the best we’d had. We tried other restaurants in Cabo de Palos which were far more expensive and substandard in comparison. It is satisfying to leave a review about a place in the area with such fantastic produce and service. Keep up...
