Chiringuito Iguana Castelldefels — Restaurant in Castelldefels

This is a beach bar a good 7-9 mins walk from the Castelldefels Playa train station. It is nicely decorated and has a wind barrier for when it gets windy and cold. 👍🏽

Unfortunately, this is where the good news ends. Do not eat here. They have mediocre food which should be improved considering the hefty prices. Have a drink, pee and move on.

We went as a group of 9 so tried quite a bunch of stuff, all of which was mediocre - don’t make hummus so bland, please! And don’t you just hate the defiling of hummus with beetroot? Why would you add dollops of allí-oli and seaweed to a tuna tataki? Just coz it’s fish doesn’t mean it goes well with Goma wakame. Boneless meat in fajitas doesn’t need to be over cooked to the point of being tasteless and texture-less. The salmon tartar wasn’t amazing (at about 16€ the pop). In fact, the burgers were the only items which were ok though the accompanying chips tasted of over-used oil 👎🏽Sigh.

Not very friendly for groups. The lady in charge of the bar had my guests chased away from the tables in order to do more business with walk-in customers. The food was very good, but this treatment had a bitter aftertaste. After all, we were there with 42 people. In addition, money was also taken for the use of the sunbeds (10.00 euros per sunbed). This is not very customer-friendly and unfortunately gave a nice day an unpleasant flavour. But the service was friendly and...

Last time we came to this chiringuito was in 2020 and then before, in 2019. Everytime we ate amazing food with nice drinks. Something must have changed. We ate some tapas, and to be honest the 'nachos completos' seemed to be the trashiest one we tasted in the past years. The ingredients were so artificial that we think it all came from Mercadona...
