We visited CBC to enjoy a sunset drink on their terrace.
The drinks were OK, but nothing special. For a premium place, we expected more. The cocktails were just okay, and even the Porn Star Martini missed probably premium ingredients and a passion fruit garnish, which show how cost effectiveness they are. Passion fruit price in summer is cheap.
The atmosphere was calm, with only 6-7 occupied tables and no one using the pool. Despite having three waiters in the terrace area, getting their attention was difficult. They were constantly chatting amongst themselves, which is understandable given the emptiness, but none of them demonstrated the professionalism to periodically check on the guests. It would have been better if they faced the terrace while talking, to see if anyone needed assistance.
As a result, we found ourselves waiting for 8-11 minutes before a waiter finally turned around and noticed us. This is not what you expect from a place like this.
The QR code menu on the table could also use improvement. On the first scan, not all menu options were visible; you need to click on 'CAT' or 'EN' to see the full drinks/food menu.
This place used to be great a few years ago, but our recent experience didn’t reflect that. Hopefully, the restaurant inside still maintains its...
Read moreNOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Before reserving a table for two I’ve check their website and Instagram page and they do NOT mention anywhere that they do not allow kids in their pool. When we arrived at the beach club we went to the the reception where a very rude person attended us, telling us that kids cannot swim in the pool. The service in general is horrible, we had a table outside near the pool on the terrace and at some point my son wanted to walk and the waiter shouted at us that the kid had to wear shoes, the food itself is overpriced and do not taste good. What’s even funnier is that they do not allow kids in the pool but their pool was extremely dirty (see pictures bellow).
We then took two sun loungers and asked for un umbrella for the kid as the sun loungers were in the sun without any shade. They said they didn’t have any left ( in general there are only few of them). So my son has to sit on the floor near someone’s else umbrella, and they didn’t even seem to care about it. (Not very customer obsessed as you can see).
Last but not least we wanted to order a portion of fruits but it took ages to come and when it came it was HUGE, while we specified that it was...
Read moreProfiling Patrons with prejudice - Just Wrong
I went in to the terrace bar for a relaxed drink in casual shirt and shorts, I noticed everyone else were coming from the beach also so I didn't feel out of place. The waitress barked what I wanted to drink with an attitude, I had ordered wine and was thinking what her problem was. Halfway through the drink she came with a bill saying she needs to cash up. I said it's probable that I'd order another after this one so best to wait until the end. She comes back a few seconds later to insist that I pay now, which I did. Before jumping to conclusion, I've watched how other people were being served next to me and around by the same waitress, no one else was given the bill until they asked for it themselves.
I understood quite well that I was profiled and was singled out, them wanting me to leave or acting on whatever prejudice they harbor. I've seen enough and left, thinking "so they're like that, that's good to know, I'll be sure to share this with tens of thousands of people in social media, to give them...
