Placed at scarce meters from the train station, this restaurant, with traditional Castillian dishes and products coming from their own crops, makes you feel like a part of their family very soon. Helio and his son run this place since long ago with a very kind crew. The resto has two stages, the upper floor is a spacious dinning hall with a very convenient area for children. The bread basket hangs over the table, so the crew knows when you're running low of bread. The menu is excellent from the starters to the desserts, and always the house invites to a final traditional liquor (ask for "orujo", "pacharán" or "hierbas") to ease the moment of paying. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere felt so authentic compared to the touristy fare we'd loaded up on in the big city, and the owner was such a dear man (who was very patient with my horrible Spanish). Ask him about the photo on the wall of him as a young boxer and watch his face light up! Oh, and the food...it was magnificent, served quickly, and they checked on us several times to make sure we enjoyed. It server was very nice and gave us some great suggestions. We had the heuvos and potatoes, fried chorizo and fava bean soup. Everything was delicious.
