We had a lovely ride out on the bikes and were thirsty and very hungry, we saw this little bar and it looked really quaint and nice. We sat down and the waiter just completely ignored us going in to the bar closing the door and not coming back out for ages and after 10mins we walked up and went away the others were packed out and this was the only one with tables free so we went back again sat there for 10 mins again ignored us, the next table was getting impatient as well, he came out and said can't you read it says on the board order inside, this board was right at the back and was not obvious and the menu consisted of 6 item with no drinks menu. Went inside and ordered the drinks and papas brava, you have to pay at the bar once orded, he also shouted at the people behind to close the door as the aircon was on, he was not polite at all, went and sat back down outside, we waited a good 20 mins for the food, so we decided to ask where the food was as it was only chips we asked for and there were only 3 tables in, I got the reply of be patient your on holiday, actually we live here, the chips finally came omg, 7,50 for a small portion of chips for 1 person. I would recommend that you don't go here, I have worked in this industry and he certainly is not a good person to be serving, I got the impression he didn't want to be there and the service is so slow I can now see why there was only 3 tables one...
Read moreHaving spent 7 years in Spain, and having visited countless bars, restaurants and everything in between, I can honestly say, this is the worst, the most chaotic, the most disorganized and the least professional one imaginable. Much like all the other bars on the main plaza, this seems to be completely shocked and overwhelmed by the hordes of tourists and hikers arriving to visit nearby trails, as if it just happened and nobody gave them the memo. Here, no menu, just some dishes on a faded pizarra board, no variety. We have been warned the kitchen’s backed up, but after waiting 45 minutes for bravas that never arrived and several pointless attempts to get the waiter - running around like a headless chicken, having no control over anything, ignoring us same as everyone ese - we left. If you cannot handle the guests, put less tables. Hire more waiters. Put QR codes so people can see what they want while they wait. Put a “wait to be seated” sign. Some claim Ca Bárbara has improved after it changed owners - I cannot imagine what it’s been before. So take this advice from a complete stranger, and by any means, skip Ca Bárbara, even if it’s the last...
Read moreIve dined here twice already. First time, main course was a very finely done roasted chicken 🤌, 2nd time, had a very tasty meat lasagna, in both dinners, i had 2 glasses of wine plus freshly prepared desert, price was generally 25€. I also just like sitting around drinking wine or coffee at this place on my rest day from climbing coz owner/waitress is pretty cool. I feel bad for the bad reviews that this place gets, coz their really nice people with good food and some people give bad reviews coz they havent been attended to right away, or because its more expensive than the neighboring bars, well ca barbara is a restautant, not a bar, and its in chulilla were restos pay more for rent. I just felt the need to highlight how this resto is actually better than its reviews. Give it a try and then review it...
