Japonés Yuzu Obrador — Restaurant in Ciutadella

This is a little Japanese gem in the heart of Cituadella harbour - on day one of our visit to Menorca and this menu del dia alone was worth coming for. Wonderful, friendly service and some fabulous recommendations and island tips from (apparently) the only Japanese woman in the city (and 1 of only 9 on the island) - sorry really should have asked your name. The food was excellent, my wife had vegetable gyozas for starter and Stingray for main... then being someone without a sweet tooth went for some epic looking Salmon sashimi for dessert. I had a delicious spicy tuna and udon noodles dish with veg, followed by 8 pieces of very flavorful and excellently made sushi and two puddings (seemed crazy to let hers go to waste) - the traditional Japanese mango moki was delicious and unusual, the fondant with warm chocolate heavenly. Neither were huge, but perfect to round off an excellent lunch in the sun, talking, eating, drinking and people watching. There are many eateries along the front but this little place is an absolute find - we'll be sure to return next time we're on the island.

I should add that the restaurant is now located on the opposite side of the harbour to where Googlemaps currently shows it - I guess this must be the old restaurant location. It is now located next to restaurante el Bribon.

Update - following 5 days and some fabulous (and super pricey) meals in Menorca we decided we couldn't leave without visiting Yuzu for dinner before we left. The menu del dia also carries on to the evening, so you can get an exceptional 3 course meal both day and night. The food was excellent once again 👍👍 for consistency and if I could give this place 6 stars I would....

Tengo que decir que al llegar al restaurante y sentarnos afuera en la terraza. Ya de entrada la camarera que nos atendió primero me dio la impresión de no tener ganas de estar allí.😫 Acto seguido nos trajo las cartas y vi los precios...Un poco elevados para lo que estoy acostumbrado a pagar en un japo. Pero bueno...de pedidos al río.🙄

Fue mi mujer la que se encargó de pedir una variedad de platos que encontré que tardaban más de la cuenta en salir. Fue cuando salieron los dos primeros platos y los probamos. Tanto a mi mujer como a mi, nos dio un vuelco al paladar. Toda una sorpresa!!. Exquisito!! Espectacular!!!... Salieron los siguientes platos y más de lo mismo, menudo festival. Puedo decir que todo están elaborados con productos frescos y al momento. De ahí la tardanza en salir.

Volviendo al servicio, decir que había una segunda camarera que era un diez. Super simpática y atenta.

Por eso puedo decir que las apariencias engañan. 😉 Cuando vuelva a estar en Ciudadella es una vista obligada...

Für spanische Verhältnisse teuer, auf allen Sushi war irgend eine Sauce, auch der Tunfisch hatte eine komische Farbe. Nach meiner Meinung war der Fisch nicht mehr frisch, es hat auch im Geruch kein frischer Eindruck gemacht. Der Koch meinte es wäre yellow tail Thunfisch der hätte halt eine andere Farbe... egal, ich esse regelmässig Sushi dies war definitiven kein high light... Bedingungen sehr nett, die Lage des Lokals ist im Hafen...
