Terribly disappointing experience at 'La Peña' in Campello. We went with high expectations for the arroz señoret, but what we were served was a disaster. The rice tasted like salty seawater, the calamari had a strange taste. Clearly, the seafood wasn’t fresh. When we mentioned it, we only received an apology with no compensation, not even a coffee. Truly unfortunate. I do not recommend this place at all.

To make matters worse, several of us developed food poisoning after the meal, with symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. What started as a disappointing meal ended up being a serious health issue. Truly unfortunate and unacceptable. I strongly advise...

We had one of those magic dining experiences here that will live forever in our memories. COVID and the winter holidays have emptied out this often bustling shoreline and so we had the place to ourselves. This did not deter the small staff reminding me of actors who "play their heart out to an empty house." Our waiter chose a great bottle of wine and was incredibly attentive but not smothering.

Our one regret is that we were not dressed to match the elegance of the restaurant.

Esta vez disfrutando en el Restaurante La Peña en El Campello, Alicante. En este lugar he encontrado ese Love Gastronómico que uno busca cuando desea disfrutar de esa cocina con Alma con sabores a mama, aquí encuentras Producto de altísima calidad, con una carta tradicional sin más, buenos arroces, buenos entrantes, pescados o mariscos que recién llegados de los mejores mercados y el mar, te proporcionan placer en la mesa sin duda alguna.

En la Peña, prima esa prioridad máxima hacia la calidad del producto, pero también el buen y cercano trato al cliente, y dan la oportunidad a tu bolsillo de pagar desde un vino de un nivel Medio a un nivel alto o extremo, la bodega de German te permite decidir que homenaje quieres tener, y sea cual sea tu decisión, German sabe darte la mejor Opción y que tu experiencia sea máxima, déjate llevar por él o su equipo.

La ambientación del Restaurante es magnífica y acogedora, pues te encuentras dentro de un bodegón dentro de un barco, todo super cuidado, limpio y cuidando cada detalle del local sin excepción.

Su Bodega de vinos por debajo del nivel del Mar, acoge los mejores caldos del mercado, dando un nivel al Restaurante que difícilmente puedes encontrar en muchos lugares y que, siendo el capricho de German, también es de cada cliente que visita La Peña.

Mi Admiración por este lugar es máxima al igual que mi respeto por el proyecto consolidado que German y su Familia llevan pilotando desde hace muchos años. Y que ya nada tienen que demostrar, son un referente gastronómico y yo los he...
