O'Malley's Irish ☘️ Pub — Restaurant in es Mercadal

I arrived in Menorca with my 9year old daughter on Sunday afternoon. We had booked an appartment with booking.com. When we went to check in at the reception there was nobody to be found! We were in jeans and jumpers ( as we came from London), with all our luggage in tow and no appartment! Ken, Landlord of O'Malley's took us into his pub, let us use his facilities to change as it was absolutely boiling! He Gave us both a cold drink AND stored our luggage in his own appartment so that we could go to beach and enjoy our day whilst waiting for our own appartments receptionist to materialise. Ken said that we weren't to worry about anything, that if we couldnt access our appartment, he would make sure we found somewhere to stay. He even bought a game of Connect 4 over for us to play! We have since been back to O'Malley' and enjoyed a lovely evening. What a stunning charming and welcoming little bar. In the evening there were candles on all tables which was delightful. Great place for a romantic evening! I was told that later on during the night it becomes a little more lively with music and dancing. Kens colleague Paul was equally lovely, he offered to set up a tab for me as I was going to pay with my Visa card for each drink, he advised me that I would incur a charge each time from my bank and that it would be cheaper to do it that way. What amazingly warm friendly people. Felt right at home! Both Ken and Paul went out of their way to make us feel welcome and safe. Thank you to the Very Busy & yet Helpful barman, who was amazingly the only person managing the packed out establishment. Very impressive & professional. Lovely atmosphere. On a trip to the pharmacy, car broke down so seeked solace there. Charming visitors included, Katie nipped home go lend me her fast phone charger, Dean who checked I was OK, & Peter and his lovely wife, both from Glasgow. A Belgium at the bar got me talking French which made it a challenge to switch into Spanish mode when the taxi driver collected me! Just had a great experience at O'Malley's! The owner is terrific. After we got seats, the owner came over and asked what we would like to drink. He brought us our beers right away. We wanted to order food, and he brought over a menu for Chinese food. We ordered by number from the menu and he called it in and it was delivered quickly.
