La Guapa is one of the restaurant in Fornells [4💅🏻] that I will recommend to place tick on. The restaurant is situated at the back street of this beautiful small town. Away from busy and touristic passage but not secluded. We went for a set menu that have included four serves at €45pp. The honey sobrassada was the opening dish followed by mixed of baked veggies tailored to my diet. La Guapa is one of the few restaurants in Spain that looks after those with gluten intolerances 😀. The mussels in tomato sauce were so delicious that I licked the shells to gain this extra heaven of flavours. The main dish - caldereta de lagosta! What a treat for the stomach!! The waiter set the table with various cutleries and politely explained how to use those weapons to get into delicious parts of lobster. The choice of dishes that were complementing each other, serves sizes, freshness and chef's special secret ingredients - passion for quality food made our experience in La Guapa unforgettable. The €5 desert was an extra to the menu but don't missed out! We skipped on mango paracotta. to be responsible but tiramisu and cheesecake that we tried were light...
Read moreExtremely disappointed, have been going to this restaurant for many years and planned a special night this year. It’s popular so we always book ahead. When we got there it was full and were put in a hot room upstairs with zero atmosphere, thankfully it had air conditioning so was able to cool the room down. The waitress did try to make a bad situation better by being super sweet, 10 minutes in when we were waiting to order a different man came up and said we have to move to a different table as they have a table of 8 they need to sit in our room and wanting to dump us on a small random table at the top of the staircase with no ventilation. Being passed around like an unwanted customer made us feel very uncomfortable so we decided to leave as they clearly did not want us. We’re both very sad as this was a great place the used to make you feel so welcome but now it’s clearly about turnover and not the faithful customer. We have recommended this restaurant to so many people and feel sad to see it like this now. The food was good when we ate there before but the atmosphere of being on the street in Fornells is part of...
Read moreBest restaurant in the island. We went there for lunch after reading the reviews in trip advisor… The restaurant was event better than expected. It’s a family owned restaurant with great service (friendly staff always looking after you and giving great advice on what are the best items in the menu). Everything we ordered was fresh and top quality products, beautifully cooked and really tasty: toast with sobrassada and honey (local dish really tasty and a must have if you are in menorca) Tomato and Burrata salad (really good entrée) Mussels (beautifully cooked) Menorcan aubergine (light and tasty) Caldereta: typical Lobster dish from Menorca – best I’ve tried in this island Lobster Arros Caldos: another typical dish similar to a rice soup with a whole lobster Catch of the day: we had a whole seabass cooked in the oven with garlic and sides of oven baked potato, tomato and asparagus. Absolutely amazing and for me the highlight of the meal. For dessert we had their cheesecake: delicious, light and refreshing.
Next time we go to Menorca we will definitely go...
