We recently dined at Ammos Greek Restaurant in the METT Hotel Estepona, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was perfectly chilled, offering a lovely setting to unwind and enjoy the evening. The food was absolutely amazing, with authentic Greek flavors that transported us straight to the Mediterranean. We especially loved the melitzanosalata, the giouvetsi dish, and the baklava with pistachio ice cream—each dish was a standout, bursting with flavor and authenticity. What truly made our night extra special was the outstanding service we received from German and Norberto. Both were incredibly attentive, polite, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch that made our dinner even more memorable. To top it all off, the wine selection was impressive, complementing our meal beautifully. If you’re in Estepona and looking for a place that combines great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Ammos Greek Restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

We arrived late in the afternoon, when the restaurant was very slow - 3 other small groups plus us. It took a very long time for us to get to order and the waitress was pretty blunt. We waited for our starter (in the photo) for a long time, but at least it was pretty good. After that, it took a ridiculously long time to get our main dishes (salads) and they were both disappointing. The Ammos salad was a hard bread topped with ice-cold tomato shavings, feta and olives. It did not resemble a salad in the slightest and was not tasty at all. The other salad was mostly just arugula and tomatoes, with flavorless cheese on top. The waitress asked mid-meal if everything is ok but did not stop to listen to our feedback. Our bill was incorrect, which they did fix, but without any apologies. Our bill was 54€ with just water as a beverage. 1/10, cannot recommend. Overpriced, falvorless food with super slow service. The restaurant looks nice, which is the only good thing about it.

1st NOT LAST Visit Entre Smile and focused services from the first minute until the bill was happily paid. Starter, Kalamaraki, overcooked to the level if dry , the end slice of lemon was not enough (did not ask for more so my fault) the dip was good and needed. Main Lampchops Again to my taste slightly over cooked, not as dry as my starter, actually taste and texture very well done . The 2 different sauces did well together and a good balance to the slightly overcooked meat. Dessert Chocolate Trilogy Absolutely amazing the reason for the food getting the 4th star. Perfect balance with sweet and sour. Clearly the pastry chef here knows the trick ... Dog friendly ❤️❤️ Walk in possible Service and friendliness 10/10

Not Worthy

It was so bad I will split this review in different areas to let everyone know what to expect:

  1. Service. It was bad. We had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and everytime (2) we asked someone to see what was going on, same answer: "I will ask the manager". From our perspective the were overbooked for the time we arrived which it was the same the greek event started... bad organization and the hostess disappeared. Also we have seen place with the same size being managed for 4-5 waiters, here we saw 8-9 and they were just running around...

  2. Food. Bad. Cucumber Mule not tasty, if you create a version of Moscow Mule, make it worthy or just make the normal one. Wine was served without being tasted by us (poor service). Not flavour on the Moussaka (hard to make it with no flavor). Langostines skew to forget. Best dish it was the last one but it means something I do not even remember the name of it...

  3. Price. Too much for the quality of the food. For little more you will be able to have better quality in many places around, including Puente Romano.

  4. Enternaiment/Greek Event. Spanish people dancing it, it was not a greek dance (it was actually more similar to a northeastern spanish dance: Jota). Music too loud. They charge 5€ for breaking 3 plates. By the way, there is no area to break the plates and so many kids are around breaking plates in your feet...No one controls them.

Overall a horrible experience which I do not...

An extremely disappointing evening. We have been before and the food wasn’t great then, ie, cold food, tasteless food, fish full of bones but we came back as my daughter loved the show. However this time was much worse. The food was still just equally as bad as before, not particularly worse. However the service was the worst I have ever known, aswell as just generally terrible service there was one stand out moment. The waiter dropped a spoon covered in tzatziki on my head, the dip was all in my hair and down my dress. The waiter looked me dead in the eye and just walked off not even an apology. I went to bathroom to clean up and when I came back my daughters pasta had been taken away which she was still in the middle of eating, when I tried to explain to another waiter what had happened he told me “calm down” “relax woman” he then bought out another pasta and PUT IT ON OUR BILL?! As for the show, well I think the dancers danced about 3 times, one song per time during the 4 hours we were there (4 hours due to waiting for plate smashing for my daughter) and then when it came time to do the plate smashing we were informed that not everyone gets one free plate each anymore they are €5 per 2 plates. All in all...

Came for a family lunch (2x adults 1x 4 year old child) service was just appalling. No coordination between the waiting staff, was given drinks menu ordered water never retuned for rest of the drinks order, has to ask for the food menu after waiting 20min. After another 10min had to ask to have food order to be taken. Food arrived after 30min with my meal missing after 5 min asked where was after 10min give up asked to speak with manager who was not helpful he went to investigate came back to say my order had not been taken and he could make me something quick. We said forget aa after asking for another bottle of water and orange asked again 3x before it eventually came. Then waiting 15 min before bill arrived. Asked to with manager again he said I removed the Cod as it never arrived. Well yes it should be removed as you said it was never order. Food was ok but we not be back. Shame as the place is lovely inside good DJ and live saxophone and singer. waiting staff where nice but have not been trained properly and the manager certainly was not experienced. It’s a shame as would great to use the beach day pass. 2 very...
