Casa Wild — Restaurant in Estepona

After seeing the Instagram of Wild Cafe and all the reviews we obviously came with big expectations. To be honest there were some things we liked and some we didn’t. Interior and the outside were beautifully done and we liked it a lot! 👌🏻 We ordered avocado cocktail and matcha cocktail - first one was too thick (maybe should be called “smoothie cocktail”?) and second one didn’t have the taste of matcha at all. Never the less they both tasted good. For starters we had avocado croquettes which we loved and mushroom carpaccio which was quite nice as well. From the mains we ordered tacos, spring rolls, artichoke cakes and curry. We really enjoyed artichoke cakes and that was it. Spring rolls were tasteless, taco were also missing some spices and curry on the other hand had too many spices which made it difficult to eat. 🤷🏻‍♀ The worst part was the matcha cake and not because it wasn’t good at all but because of the attitude of the waiter. I asked from what is made the cream/filling in the cake and the waiter said that he doesn’t know so I asked him to please ask the kitchen for me and the waiter responded “well... I don’t think they will tell you the ingredients.” We were shocked!!! 😱 Then I simply asked “and what if I’d have some allergy?” - on which he just didn’t know how to respond. We tried to finish the cake but it was so bitter that we just couldn’t (and it was 4 of us trying to eat it). Sadly the waiter didn’t care to come back and tell me the ingredients so when we paid I asked him again about the cake and he was really unhappy that I didn’t just drop the subject. He finally went to ask the kitchen and then in a rude and sarcastic way answered my question. We couldn’t believe we were treated so bad in this restaurant. UPDATE 31-05-24: Funny enough again an update exactly a year after the last one. I’ve taken away one star overall. Service today was not as good as we were used to. I asked for a drink without ice cubes, got it with (it was very quiet). The table was a bit sticky. And the orange juice was very sour, very surprising for Spain. The duck was pretty chewy, we mentioned that and nothing was done with it. The men’s toilet was dirty and when we tried to get the bill, they were all playing with a new puppy instead of paying attention to the guests 😖 Soooo, for those prices, in a spot with a lot of noise from the A7, and in some corners the music is too loud 😞 Even though normally the food has had high standards, it’s not one of our favorites anymore 😢

Still only lunch nowadays. New menucards, but same items, only higher prices! Still worth it 😉 on the website is still the old menu shown 🤪 The oyster mushroom burger is really good too 😊 And nice and funky original music and friendly personnel that speak very good English.

The place is so beautiful and cozy with a lovely design, you will fall in love once you step in their garden . I tried their: 🥑Avocado croquettes 🍞 Tofu benedict 🌮 Chicken Tacos 🍵 Matcha cake 🍫 Vegan brownie . 🔍 First time trying an avocado croquettes and I dont regret it, comes with their awesome home-made pear sweet chili sauce I purposely ordered the Vegan style of eggs benedict just to see how they do the vegan hollandaise sauce and all I can say is: WELL DONE. Tastes really good and texture was very similar to the regular hollandaise the chicken tacos was very juicy and flavorful with a nice tortillas Homemade matcha cake was amazing, creamy and rich in matcha flavours Last but not least; the vegan brownie, OMG, it was one the best one I had so far, just like the real fudgy brownies but vegan and that was impressive, with an awesome vegan peanut butter icecream on top, A MUST TRY . 🗣️ friendly & efficient service, helpful with the product knowledge to make sure you ordering the right choice for you . 💶 Check the last slides...
