Mumbai Masala — Restaurant in Estepona

Feb 2024 Very good Indian. All the food came piping hot and the poppadom was crispy & freshly cooked. Authentic flavours. Excellent service too. Recommended.

May 2024 Another excellent meal at Mumbai Masala. Service not quite as good as before, but they were very busy. Fabulous chicken Achari - a dish not seen in many restaurants but one of my favourites. Far too much food - had to take a doggy bag! Excellent value. Highly recommended still.

July 2024 Another amazing experience with good wonderfully fully flavoured curry. Chicken Achari again (just spotted that what I had last time!). One of the best I’ve ever had. As per usual too much - so doggy bag to the rescue!

April 2025 Wow! Another fantastic meal. Having realised I’d had the same thing in a couple of reviews, I thought I’d switch things up.

So had the samosas (ok, I had those before but they’re great, but be warned, they’re Punjabi style so more pastry that perhaps some people are used to) and a ‘simple’ Chicken Tikka with a bullet naan (for the kick!).

And I must say that everything was absolutely spot on. Piping hot & full of flavour.

And no need for a doggy bag this time! 🤣

And a glass of Ribera to wash it down. What could be better?

We live locally and eat out at least once a week. We love Indian food and friends had recommended this place. The service was really good, the place is clean, the prices are reasonable but the food is below average. The sauces for the popodoms are very liquid. The red sauce has very strong (not pleasant) almost vinigary taste. The curries have a purée like texture ( all of them) and for sure come from premade sauces in tubs. It's fine to use these but in limited quantities as addon not for the entire curry. They do add some onions and peppers but no authentic spices that you can taste, see and smell. For me the food is not authentic nor freshly prepared. I am sorry to say but were quite disappointed and will not...

One of my favourite indian restaurants nowdays. Tried a couple of curries such as Vindaloo, Achari and Garlic chilli chicken and they where all great. Not too spicy, I almost wished that the Vindaloo was a little bit more spicy. The restaurant interior and exterior is nothing special, location in the Puerto is however very nice. Naan bread was amazing!

UPDATE Went there again and ordered a couple of starter togehter with a friend. Most of them where kind of dry. Seemed like all of it had been frozen and heated in the microwave. Not sure if this was the case or not but we where disappointed. Lowering it to 3 stars. First visit was a 4 star and second was...
