We’ve been to this restaurant numerous times over the last 9 years but never have we had such an awful experience.
We waited over and hour and a half for our meals to arrive. The waiters kept telling us “5 mins”. Then owner/manager sent over some focaccia and again said “5 mins and told us he normally has 7 people in the kitchen but on the night we were there he only had 2. When we asked why did he take our order if he knew he couldn’t provide us with good service he merely walked away.
When the food arrived it was mediocre at best. The sauce for our chicken was pure cream and tasted terrible. We mentioned this to the waiter and he said he’d speak to the manager/owner.
The outcome was the manager/owner stopped my husband and our friend from leaving the restaurant and shouted in my husbands face over €12.50 as we refused to pay the entire bill. He continued to shout and tell us there was no issue with us waiting for that length of time and there was nothing wrong with our food. He would not let us leave unless we paid another €10 which we duly did. He did this in front of other diners. He made it very clear we would not be welcomed back… missing the point that we would not wish to spend our money with them again.
There is no question the restaurant is in a prime location overlooking the port however I would recommend thinking twice before using it. Sadly the customer service does not match the location and it’s clear it does not care about repeat business!
The manager/owners behaviour was...
Read moreFood was really nice.! We had to seafood paella which was flavorful with a bit of Italian flair with the tomato base. I disagree with the previous reviewers saying the pizza is mediocre, it was really good, our kids had one each and both were delicious. The red sauce here is really good.
Knocking one star off as we were automatically served bread with the meal and not told we would be charged 7.90€ for 4 small bread rolls with butter. Disputed it with them which put us in an awkward position as a customer. We were told it was a cover charge, which is absurd because we shouldn’t have to pay to dine at a restaurant - there are several other restaurants to choose from. Never in my lifetime in all the world I’ve traveled have I heard of this concept. We refused to pay it. More-so based on principal of not telling us ahead of time, felt deceitful. Strange. Just up your prices and add it in if you don’t thing you’re making enough. Or maybe you don’t want the hassle and expense of updating prices on a menu (which was electronic on an iPad anyhow 🤷♀️)
Other than this lovely meal, lovely...
Read moreWe came here in the off season so there were no issues getting a table and the view over the marina is beautiful.
Service was very slow. At first we thought it was nice as it meant we could sit, relax and chat but there was a very long wait between main course and ordering desert without being asked if we would like more drinks.
The menus are on iPads which was a nice novelty touch.
The Prawn pil pil was absolutely delicious. The tiger prawns wrapped in Parma ham is served to you alight. The cognac is has a powerful taste though.
The banoffie pie had a Malteaser base and a banana moose instead of cream and caramelised bananas served on the side.
We had 2 starters, shared a lobster with one side dish, 2 deserts, 2 cocktails and a bottle of wine which came to a total of €182. They don’t accept Amex.
Very nice, very enjoyable but I do just question the speed of the service when it wasn’t that busy.
Highly recommend for...
