We thought we’d give the new team the benefit of the doubt but we were sadly disappointed when told the advertised ‘homemade’ fishcakes hadn’t been delivered and then had to suffer someone sitting nearby listening to his phone on speaker, very loud, with no consideration for other diners. We decided to take home lunch because it was not a nice calm atmosphere to enjoy lunch in. On exit we asked if the person with the loud phone was the new owner and we were told ‘yes’ he was one of the new co-owners. That a new owner can think it is acceptable to disturb his guests with his phone on speaker - not just a message or a call - it was constant for nearly half an hour. A cute breakfast spot but my was the server a mad woman. If not for her this would have been a much better stay. I get it we are American but to be super rude to our table and then kind to tables next to us that weren’t American is a bit much. We came in because they advertised AMERICAN pancakes on their menu and the kids wanted pancakes. We sat near a small play area and the kids played in a small “kitchen area” while we waited for the meal. I even went out of my way to leave a large tip for this woman and handed it to her hoping to make her day a little bit better and it was meant with a snarl. We stopped for Sunday brunch. We were not disappointed, the service was amazing two very happy waitresses sat us down and got us drinks and a menu. The food came quickly Lisa had French toast with maple syrup and streaky bacon, it was well cooked and the bacon was crispy. I ordered a fry it was amazing.
