Terrible overpriced food, pasta tasteless and dry, pizza was a frozen base and topping tasted of pure salt, all inedible. Customer service was absolutely appalling, young waitress full of attitude and ignored us when we raised an issue with the food, the older waitress was lovely when we had to raise issues with her, she offered us alternatives etc but we were fed up by then. Asked for bill and shocked to see a full charge for the food less tiny discount, so challenged it and ended up being humiliated by the weak male waiter/manager who avoided us and sent the nice waitress with the bill with instructions to tell us we got a slight discount, she didn’t as was abviously mortified and no puppet! We said we would pay for the wine but not the food but he said we ate some of it (really only a couple of bites each, it was inedible) He proceeded to be unreasonable, shouted (in front of other diners) 😳 pretended he could not speak English and ultimately tried to humiliate us by causing a scene and when that did not work as we tried to calm him to be reasonable he tried to throw us out the restaurant yet did not charge us for the wine we insisted we would pay for! The most bizarre experience, being a resident for 4 months now and after visiting Estepona for years, this is the worst food and service, it’s criminal given everywhere else has such high standards. Very inexperienced staff and poor chefs, trying to be something it’s not, don’t be fooled by the fancy furniture! . This is not Italian food, hospitality or customer service. Best authentic Italian food and hospitality can be found at La Carbonara and if you want good pizza, pasta and fast friendly service go to el rincion Toscana. Avoid this restuarant like the plague, a...
Read moreSuper nice place!
The restaurant itself is really beautiful, with a great decoration, the food is AMAZING - we had the salmon and mango tartar, the tuna tartar and the zucchini parmigiana as antipasti, the carbonara pasta with black truffle, the black truffle pasta, (fresh pasta in both cases) and the beef filet with red wine sauce for main, and the Baba o rum and the pineapple carpaccio for dessert, and everything was delicious! And for the quality of the food, the price was really reasonable!
The Italian wine they served us was also very very good!
Plus the staff is super nice, and we got an in depth explanation of where they get the products from when we asked - and when it comes to the truffle and the parmesan, they come to your table to grate it over your plate, and they are very generous with the quantity!
Overall it is a great restaurant with delicious food, amazing staff and a really nice setting. We had a great evening and we will definitely be coming back!
I would recommend making a reservation, though - it's on the smaller side, especially in winter when the terrace isn't fully open, and they are quite popular -...
Read moreOh Dear.
We dined here yesterday with a couple of friends.
The food is really not good.
Our friends pizzas looked like cardboard, with a taste to match, in fact the suspicion was frozen bases were used with a splattering of bland ingredients on the top.
My partner had lasagne, desperately under seasoned.
I had pasta with.... pieces of unidentified meat in it.
We asked for additional parmesan for both my dish and the lasagne.
This was charged for at €4.
Despite my husband not finishing his dish, it was charged in full.
With a drink each it came to €106.
That was unexpected.
It was, all in all, a grim day for Italian cuisine and definitely not somewhere I'd send anyone too... unless they each had four legs and wanted to eat around the back, sucking on one piece of spaghetti.
If you know. You know.
There are soooooooo many good places to eat in Estepona. Alas, this isnt one of them.
The two stars for atmosphere are for ourselves and our...
