Restaurant Capritxos tapas Gourmet — Restaurant in Formentera

I honestly don’t understand how this place has such a high rating. For me, everything was either average or below average. We expected a tapas bar with tasty, reasonably priced small plates, but instead it was some unclear format – neither proper tapas nor proper main dishes. Prices were really on the high side, portions were small, and service was extremely slow. They forgot items, delayed others, and overall nothing ran smoothly. The waiter introducing the tapas was friendly and cheerful, but that didn’t make the service any faster. Even the dishes themselves were disappointing. For example, the ribs – you’d expect them grilled or roasted, but instead they came in tempura, which was odd. Portions in general felt small for what you pay, yet the bill looked like for a mid-range restaurant. Overall, it felt like everything that could go wrong, somehow did. We came here on our first proper night in Formentera, and it was excellent. I wouldn't usually visit the same restaurant twice on a 7 day holiday, but I'm very tempted to come back. The food is Spanish tapas/pintxos, but there's a fusion influence from various Asian cuisines too. We had croquettes, tacos, a cheese board, courgettes with feta, patatas bravas, and sangria. The food was excellent, Luis' service was impeccable, the prices were good for Formentera, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

We have been having our breakfasts here at Capritxos and we re extremely happy with it! The music from ‘80’s is the first great welcome in the mornings followed by Luis’s always smiling face and can do attitude. The coffee we drank was one of the best in the island, croissants are always fresh and crisp, eggs were always excellently cooked… When we’re here delicious and fresh watermelon, melon and oranges, 3 different types of cheese and various charcuteries were served and all were abundant… Beach-style humble decoration was very nice and always spotlessly clean.
