Cafetería Mon-Vaz — Restaurant in Gijón

We love Mon Vaz. It has been with Yoli for a very long time already. She is very professional and very friendly. We look forward every year we come back to Gijón to come visit a few times. It is a place that thrives on regulars and loyalty, as opposed to capitalizing on the volume of bypassers. Quality is key: the drinks are well prepared, so are the tapas. If you are in the mood for a quick bite to get back to the beach instead of a full meal, you can grab sandwhiches to eat there or to go. The atmosphere is quiet and the decor is timeless. A place that feels like being at home. If I remember well, the place is closed on Sundays. While occasionally that is not so nice because you'd like to stop by, it also gives you a nice hint: a café that does so well, that Sundays can be taken for rest. Pedimos un par de pinchos que resultaron ser horribles: uno vegetal, con el tomate y el atún pasados y la lechuga reblandecida y oscura; el de tortilla, aceitoso y con sabor a quemado, y delgada como si la hubieran pisado.
