Varsovia — Restaurant in Gijón

Beautiful bar located just off the promenade, across main street on the West end of San Lorenzo. The building it's housed in is a gem as well. Elegant, classy and drop-dead gorgeous interiors carry-over to a good looking staff behind plank. They are serious and competent bartenders too. I had an excellent Sazerac -- often tough to find -- followed-up by an equally smooth and tasty Manhattan. All the little touches here were appreciated, from the artistic flair of the classic cocktail wall menu, to the vintage absinthe dispenser, quality glassware and a finely dressed and friendly staff. Tenía ganas de ir a las terrazas esas que hay en los hoteles Abba y NH. Llamé al teléfono que consta en Google de Varsovia Amares, que es el establecimiento que hay en la terraza de NH y me indicaron que dejaban acceder perros. Al llegar al establecimiento me prohibieron la entrada con él, advirtiéndome educadamente de que es por normas del hotel y que me debieron atender el teléfono en este establecimiento en el que escribo ahora, animándome a acudir a conocerlo. Pues otro día que pasé por delante me paré en esta terraza. Como no conocía y soy ignorante de coctelería, lo dejé en manos del chico que me atendió y que a juzgar por las instrucciones que daba a otros camareros, diría que era encargado. Me puso un primero que me gustó mucho y otro segundo que también me gustó. Con cada uno me puso un cóctel de frutos secos de calidad (he probado avellanas del Carrefour recién abiertas peores que las de ese mix) y ya digo que la atención fue MUY buena, pese a estar ocupando una mesa yo solo y tener pinta de cualquier cosa menos de tener dinero (por otras reseñas que he visto). El tercer cóctel me lo atendió otro camarero que no fue tan agradable y que no me trajo más frutos secos. En definitiva eché un buen rato muy agradable mirando a la mar y viendo pasar a la gente, aunque los precios, en mi caso, sean para darse...

I've been a while ago and the place is astonishing. Modern, vibrant, vintage, in front of the sea, simply excellent!

As if that weren't enough, the staff were out of this world! they were truly connoisseurs of cocktails but better than that were their human approach and even one of those guys showed me the local as he were a tourist guide!
