El sifón — Restaurant in Granada

Avoid at all costs. Staff are rude and intimidating. After ordering well cooked eggs (in Spanish) I realised they were undercooked after eating a small piece of bread and a little of the eggs. I could not risk eating any more it tasted awful and was undercooked. My son's food had a hair on it. He returned it and the waiter returned very quickly, (he couldn't possibly have changed it) My son ate a bit of bread and then realised it was the same portion of food as he could see a dent in the eggs where the hair was, it had merely been picked out and re-served to us. Someone basically just picked out the hair! Plus it was also undercooked. He couldn't eat it. We quickly asked for the bill as we were so disappointed and hungry. My son explained he didn't want to pay for the substandard inedible food, as it had a hair in it and it was undercooked. The waiter was apologetic but then a very young angry woman (manager I presume) came out threatening to call the police if my son didn't pay the bill and an angry older man also came out of the restaurant, who was basically making threatening gestures with his hands about my son to me. It was a horrible experience. My son didn't want to pay, but ended up paying as we didn't want to take up time and spoil our day waiting for the police. It was a horrible experience. I can say that the Fanta Lemon was excellent and cold as you could expect but then the food came … a plate of serranoham. 8 slices quite ok and some QUESO IBÉRICO to dry had probably been out and around too long. Price 16€ worth 10€ on aa good day. The tomato salad with tuna was tomato’s (green and tasty) but the tuna was mackerel out of a can. Shame but they could have meant to write down mackerel but didn’t know the word so chose tuna. Surroundings smelled like trash which was understandable due to 6 massive (1000 liter) in the sun cooking garbage containers. Flies loved the Serrano hame in my plate as well. I’ll pass this...

We sat down at this restaurant because it had a nice interior and appealing signage. However we quickly saw that the place didn’t seem very hygienic - and we decided to look at reviews of the space. They weren’t good, so we decided to try somewhere else. When we got up to leave the manager came quickly over to us and started shouting, telling us how rude it was to sit down and then leave, embarrassingly, in front of the remaining few patrons, who didn’t seem happy with their food (they left lots behind on the table).
