Attempted to dine here tonight only to be turned away by the manager, even though we saw many empty tables.
He claimed that they were “fully booked and there’s no reservations for the whole week”. I went on Google right after and made a reservation for 40 minutes later. I went back to confirm if this was correct, given he had just told me there was no spots for the ENTIRE week, and he suddenly backtracked and tried to explain that he meant they were fully booked ONLY for that very specific time, and 40 minutes from now is very far away and a TOTALLY different story.
Made absolutely no sense - who would phrase it as if the restaurant was completely booked out if there was going to be tables open in less than an hour. If anything, he could’ve just told us there would be a wait and leave it up to us if we wanted to wait.
Clearly, they didn’t want to serve us. I don’t know if it’s because we are tourists or because we are a different ethnicity, but it left a bad taste in our mouths and suffice to say, we did not go back 40 minutes later, and will not be returning ever again.
EDIT: In response to the owners reply, that is factually incorrect. Your team did not in fact offer me a seat on the terrace. I actually specifically asked if those seats were available since they were empty, but the manager said no. Thank you for confirming however that there was no miscommunication and that your establishment is not only discriminatory,...
Read moreThe place is nicely decorated inside (the outdoor terrace part could be improved). The food is ok but a bit overpriced for the quality. I had the veal, which was good but I asked for the meat to be cooked "al punto" (medium-rare) and it was a bit overdone. The portions were also a bit unfair as 3 of us ordered the veal and one person's was much bigger than the other two. The croquetas de jamón are ok but nothing to write home about. The biggest problem, however, was that my boyfriend's burger arrived at least 10 minutes after the other dishes. We had all finished by the time he got his food. I'm not sure if it was the waiter's mistake or a problem in the kitchen. The waiter apologised but we probably should have been offered a discount on the burger as obviously we expected to be eating together. As we were arriving, we also saw that one of the chefs had been to a shop to buy ready-made guacamole. I'm not sure if the guacamole is always shop-bought but I would expect freshly made guacamole in a restaurant like this, especially as it's really not...
Read more2 stars for the great service otherwise I would give 1 star, the food was terrible. This was the first time on my trip I’ve been catfished by food and honestly I blame the other reviews lol. The first dish was basically toasted flatbread with guacamole sprinkled with three uneven chunks of salmon that were way too big (and chewy) to eat comfortably, for almost 14 euros. That’s robbery. It even came wrapped in parchment paper which makes no sense…for raw salmon? Then came the bao buns, we ended up scraping out the pork and ditching the buns bc the texture was weird. The kalua style pork itself was overly sweet and the sauce was not good. And then came our final disappointment: the veal. I’ve never had tough veal before but guess there’s a first for everything =*) I’m not even exaggerating when I say my mouth was tired from all the chewing. Don’t let the picture deceive you. The potatoes and salsa that came with it was honestly the best part of the meal..and the music. How does this get such high ratings on the Fork, I will...
