Not the first time I have been here, last time was 2-3y ago. I ordered a menu. Before the first dish was brought we received the typical iberican ham croquettes as a courtesy. Very crispy, good taste! Then the first dish: the cannelloni. It was complete, very tasty and a large quantity. Second dish: ducklegs confit, with potatoes and batter + fried vegetables on the side. The duck was cooked to perfection and the fig confit matched exquisitely. The fried potatoes were to me not fried enough (unfortunatelly as in practically every Spanish restaurant). The battered and fried vegetables were good, I know its a trend but I wouldn't have minded the vegetables naturally cooked ;-) The dessert for me was the cheesecake with wild Berry coulis also good. Accompanied with the food we had a good white chardonnay - Bestué (1 bottle for 3 menus ordered) Overall for me a perfect menu, service and attention was good. Prices might be slightly higher then other restaurants but I guess it remains the best restaurant in Graus and neighbouring towns. Some pictures are from meals of people at my table not...
Read moreIt’s a terrible shame we had to argue over the bill. The 33euro 3 -course prix fix menu was ordered for 4 but one person wanted to forgo a starter ( still paying for the 3 courses no problem) and we were penalised for this when the bill came (“ you cannot miss a course”) and charged the full a la carte prices individually for the same food for the whole table ! We argued that I could have ordered that 4th starter and left it but what a silly waste! Nonsensical and devious. We argued and came to an agreement but what a shame to leave the restaurant upset and feeling done over. The food was good , service average and none of the waiting staff knew much about what was gluten free - which is unusual for our experience of Spain. Once the food was served, all at different times with no care if starters were finished, the staff forgot about us and we had to go to the kitchen to get some assistance. Highly...
Read moreWe visited the Criticón restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime, 4 friends, tired out and sweaty from a hard morning's ride round the Pyrenees on our motorbikes. The restaurant looked quite formal, but we were given a hearty welcome. Certainly, if you want to dress up and impress your girlfriend or boyfriend, this place would be perfect. We all had a €30 set menu, which was excellent, tasty food, and plenty of it. We couldn't go overboard on the wine, as we had another few hundred km to ride, but what we did have was excellent. I would readily go back, but as we live so far from the Pyrenees, it won't be for a long time,...
