La Cañada Playa Restaurante — Restaurant in Guardamar del Segura

At first glance looked appetising, it’s very busy so they waiters concentrate on those who will spend more money. My daughter and I were served drinks and complimentary muscles. We are from London. We soon realised we would be waiting a long time for our orders to be taken. Eventually we ordered and then my daughters basic meal of nuggets and chills came, no offer of ketchup. By the time my daughter had finished, my basic spaghetti bolognese meal came. I initially wanted the paella but apparently minimum 2 people can order it. I requested paramsean for my not so delicious looking spaghetti bolognese. I observed the male waiter serving others their food, clearly unbothered he has just handed me a basic meal which is usually served with paramsean. I ended up having to get up and request again for the cheese. Unfortunately I did not take a picture as I was super hungry! Altogether I waited and sat for a lot longer than I would expect to. Visited a few months ago and meal was ok so we returned and brought friends with us. Really disappointed this time. One member of staff was friendly however the male member of staff was very grumpy and uninterested. We ordered our meals and then were brought bread (we weren't asked if we wanted it, it was just dropped on our table). Our meals arrived and apart from one were literally a piece of fish on a plate with 3 dry boiled potatoes! No side dishes available to order!!! One positive was that the wine was lovely and reasonably priced! When we asked for the billl we were shocked to find that they added so many extras....1.80€ for a small bottle of water, nearly 2€ each for a small bread roll and 2.40€ for butter sachets!! Unfortunately due to the money grabbing management we wont be returning here and most definitely wouldn't recommend to any our of friends that visit. Too many other lovely restaurants around...

Very tricky restaurant. We went to have the menu of the day which is clearly displayed on the outside of the restaurant for ~20€, they asked us for drinks and didn’t tell us they were not the included drinks (apparently only a small bottle of water was included), then the meal was a variant of paella which is different from the usual (no form of meat whatsoever- only rice). The dessert selection was limited as usual in cases of menus. The service was poor and slow. The staff were rude. They overcharged us and added extras to the bill - VAT and the drinks (which were not listed on the menu) Don’t recommend this restaurant if you are looking to have the menu, it’s essentially a pricy place for the sea view.
