I stopped for a coffee. Place, as all historic Paradores are amazing, with a lot of history, some interesting artifact and nice decoration.

Coffee was good

Service was so so, specially taking in account my experiences in multiple Paradores where typically the staff goes from very good to excellent. Here attention was subpar. The waitress didn't ever bother to get to my table and ordered my coffee from the other side of the cafeteria, luckily I was alone a the time and I didn't need to bother other customer shouting aloud. Most of the time the bar was unattended and need to go the bar and ask for the bill before leaving as nobody was paying attention at the customer in the cafeteria. Just a few to be honest as I visited on a weekday in low season with pretty bad weather. Overall feeling was like the staff was having a bad day, that honestly I am sorry if that was the case, but I felt it was not up to the standards I expect from Paradores This is one of the Paradores I still have in my "to do" list, but after this experience and taking in account is one of most expensive ones I am seriously considering it The rest of my time in Hondarribia I used the coffee just around the corner, that had good coffee, was comfortable, hasnice staff, and of...

A life saver when everything else is closed during the slow tourist season. One server stood out among others, a sweet, gentle, hard-working lady named Elisa was always happy to help, not just at the cafeteria but also at the Guests Only Breakfast service. Sr. Miguel and Deborah were also very helpful...
