El Localito — Restaurant in Icod de los Vinos

Lovely decorated restaurant with small menu of all homemade food. My husband and I both ordered the lasagne with a glass of wine each and some water. It took 55 minutes for the lasagne to arrive and when we received it, it was very cold in the middle. It took another 10 minutes to finally receive our meal hot and it was nice but nothing special. While the server did apologise both for the wait and for the cold lasagne, he made no effort to make up for this. Having both worked in the service industry, were such a long wait to happen where we worked, we would have offered complementary bread or drinks whilst customers were waiting hungry and thirsty. Failing this and given that the food was cold, we would have discounted a portion of the bill. Nothing of the sort was offered. Would...

This wonderful restaurant is definitely worth climbing 100m above the commercial street from the town. We had a true warm welcome. Family business with lady in the kitchen and man in the restaurant.
