Rude and outright nasty staff. From the second we walked in we were greeted with a feeling of unease from all 3 members of staff we were approached by. We were spoken to in Italian, which we did not understand and so explained that we were English, to which upon hearing this information, their attitudes towards us lowered even further. We were not sure what to think at this point, we were very taken back, shocked and a little perplexed as to what was going on and why. It was as if we had done something terrible to them previously, yet this was our first ever visit. We stayed sat at the table given to us for a few minutes, just giving ourselves time to contemplate the situation. During the next five minutes, our little boy, whom suffers greatly from mental health issues, including often crippling anxiety and related physical symptoms, had himself become very aware of the rather awkward feeling environment. This triggered him and he immediately felt the need to go to the bathroom. Having not been in this restaurant before ,we did not know the location of the restrooms, nor at this point could we locate staff to ask. I left the table with my little boy to search for the toilets. Upon walking inside the restaurant further I noted a large (8ft high) painted wylee coyote character on a very clear large wall facing us, with the word "toilet" written above the characters head, with the character in a pose with his hand out to one side and his finger pointing that direction. So naturally, we followed the apparent instruction to go in that direction. Upon doing so, we almost instantly came across a door, which I subsequently opened and discovered a toilet room. So we (like anyone) presumed this was the toilet available and directed to by the character painting and words above it. My little boy went to the toilet and then we left the toilet, closed the door behind us and left to return to our table. Now back at our table and sat back down with my wife and little boy, we were immediately approached by the waitress, whom rather bluntly started to shout at us that we are not to use the toilet we had used and that we should use toilets that were down in the cellar (not sign posted when I was looking). I began to try to explain that we had followed the painted characters apparent directions on the large wall, bit she did not listen to my response, she only repeated that we were "so, so wrong" for using this toilet and it is "very not right". As I began to voice my response again, she shouted out to somebody, followed immediately by a rather large gentleman dashing over to our table to start wagging his arm and finger at us whilst shouting, repeating the fact that the toilet we had used should not have been used and that we shall "never use again, okay". I tried for a third time to give a response, but both staff members walked away. As this was all happening, the other two tables occupied in the restaurant, looked across in astonishment, we felt embarrassed, intimidated and disgusted at what had befallen upon us and all without reasonable reasons or fault of our own.
Needless to say, we then immediately exited the restaurant and got away from the horrible situation. Now a few days later, we are still absolutely perplexed as to what and why this happened, yet still having now had a few days to dissect it and calm down, we still feel very strongly that the public should be made aware of these people and their just awful behaviours to customers.
We have visited corralejo for the last 20 years, once, sometimes twice a year and the vast majority of restaurants and bars are brilliant. Caesars however, is the worst by a country mile. Whilst we did not actually eat there, the smells in there during our short visit were not exactly pleasant nor did the other two tables look particularly pleased with their orders.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! At least 5 better pizza places in the town and that's just off what we know ourselves, there may be more. Don't risk this place, you'll...
Read moreFirst and last time I'll visit this restaurant. I went because it was recommended to me.
Firstly the staff were not overly welcoming. One guy was friendly, but there was a lady who appeared to be hovering around people while eating making me feel uncomfortable. I ordered hawaiian pizza on wholemeal base (which I didnt get) the base was so thin you couldn't get it to stay the fork and would be completely impossible to eat with your hands The ham was like packet processed ham. Very little pineapple that was mostly on one side of the pizza. Not very well presented at all. The toppings slid off the base and it was soggy. The crust was chewy. I saw under another review the owner says they do 2 bases, that is NOT indicated on the menu and the staff DO NOT ask which type you want. Also had a pepperoni pizza which was as bad We ordered fries also and they were absolutely laced with salt we couldn't eat them. We had drinks 1 water 1 small beer €6 for drinks the beer was effectively a small wine type glass. Assuming they were €3 each I paid the same in town for a large beer. So that makes for pretty expensive drinks by the standard of corralejo.
By far the worst pizza I ever had in my life. One could assume i got them on a bad day but there's several other very similar reviews. Plus they were just back open after a holiday so one would think they would be refreshed and ready to serve good food. Ive also seen some replies from the owner which leaves a lot to be desired
We left having paid the bill and got a burger around the corner as our €23 meal simply wasn't...
Read moreNight of arrival, tired and fed up. Cold, wearing three layers. Walked to this arcade, and wife + son (adult) didn't want to go any further. When I go on holiday, one of the highlights is the food. I was very unimpressed by the 'sheeting' being buffered by the wind, but begrudgingly gave in. We were greeted and seated quick quickly, but there was no room inside, and we were then pretty much ignored. I was getting grumpier, and happy to leave, but after a few times asking, someone actually came to ask if we wanted to order drinks, so we stayed. I ordered calzone, the other two had pizza. Although the ingredients were certainly basic, the calzone dough was beautifully cooked, and made it the best I have eaten. My wife enjoyed her pizza so much, she kept on about it for a couple of days ... my son, well, he in 20's and didn't say much 😉 ... all in all, good value, shame about the service. Nb I am sure there is a better atmosphere inside, and they may even remember you are sitting there (although outside is right in front of...
