Kuma Lajares — Restaurant in La Oliva

I have spent years looking for a proper smash burger in Fuerteventura. A couple of times, I thought my search had come to an end, only to find myself let down brutally time after time.

But I must be understanding. It is not easy to please a well-known burger connoisseur who has experienced well over a thousand burgers in his lifetime.

Today, I am confident to declare that in Fuerteventura, Kuma is the only place where those properly smashed patties will be found... Patties kissed by the sacred fire of Maillard, enclosed within the juiciest surroundings one could imagine. Existing in this universe for the sole purpose of sparking a spiritual awakening of your taste buds. To let your mouth fall in love with itself and guide you to accept the warmth that you had forgotten all those years ago.

The only change I'd suggest would be the addition of a dip menu. Nice fries deserve more than the basic ketchup and mayo. It was nice that we got a cup of the Kuma sauce on...

A great find and a change from my regular seafood holiday food. I ordered the La Trilogia burger with sweet potato fries and for dessert Tequenos. I really enjoyed the food. My only criticism is that the burger would have been better with a cocktail stick in the middle as bread was sliding around when eating. The Tequenos I'd recommend as they are a great finish for the meal and came with blackcurrant marmalade. The staff member was very helpful and the place was almost full. English language: We felt that the service was definitely lacking. Unsure of what to order, we ordered a starter sharing dish of what turned out to be similar to a dirty chip (fries) dish. This would have been ok only when we placed our burger order, and the owner didn't dissuade us from ordering fries on the side, which was basically a double up on the starter. It was completely unnecessary, and we felt that it was unprofessional and greedy. We finished our drunks for almost 10 minutes, and the owner couldn't be bothered to check in if we were OK for another?? We were less than 5 feet away from him.
