Cafe Tropicana — Restaurant in la Vila Joiosa / Villajoyosa

We were in the bar next door and noticed a sign behind a tree trunk on the seafront for this bar which appeared to say two cocktails for €7.50. Despite the bar looking tatty with rusty unclean chairs decided to take advantage of happy hour. 😊

Ordered 2 x Pina Colada and was promised generous measures :)

After we had ordered I walked across to the tatty sign with rust spots (rust is trendy nowadays but not this sign) which had been for some reason put behind a tree trunk as I then suspected it read differently close up.

The sign up close (no tree trunk obscuring the view) now read 2 x cocktails for 14 euros.

Ok maybe my fault 🙃 so no fuss or mention made.

The cocktails (Pina Coladas) arrived which can only be described as Slush Puppies 🐶 with a hint of white rum made with some yellow cheap mix. Garnish was a sparkly thing. No fresh pineapple (or tinned). Nibbles were also put on the table which were totally stale.

If offering cocktails they must be made correctly and a Pina Colada is not a Slush Puppy.

Crushed ice with fresh pineapple 🍍 (or tinned if you must and a little sugar) under coconut 🥥 juice and white rum not Slush Puppie.

Maybe they should stick to 🍺 beer and get to Lidl for some nibbles that...

Service was great, the lady who I believe is running things was lovely. So attentive and chatty! She had family there who were helping with serving. They did a great job :)

It’s a proper English pub/restaurant, serving English grub, playing English music and tv, and has a pool table.

I had chips, cheese and gravy which I hadn’t had in ages! It was a big portion but I managed to finish it off ha! My other half had a full English breakfast and said it’s one of the best there. He had been before and said it was a great place.

Clean, great food, a good atmosphere and a beautiful view of the beach.. what more...

6 of us stopped for drink and light lunch, I ordered ham and cheese sandwich, 4.75 had it was toasted extra 1euro , the sandwich toasted one side the other side was warm, (toasted must be working one side only), pointed this out to owner she said I'll put it in again, ,bit late I'd already taken a bite, if you're charging extra for toasting ,you should make sure your getting what you pay for ,a part from that the sandwich was in my apinion tasteless,the salad that came with the sandwich was actually slice of tomato and a little limp letace, swings and rounderbouts when you just stop...
