El Churrasco Las Palmas — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Must have been one of my worst restaurant experiences. We got seated and they forgot us for 15 minutes. We didn't even receive a menu. Once we got a menu nobody came to get our order. We had to literally grab someone to get some attention, unlike other guests. We had to also ask for some bread three times. When we got our main course a lot of things went wrong there. Just to mention few, my man ordered medium rare and got a well done steak. The bread of my burger took a flight when I tried to cut it through because it was impossible to cut the bread (!!). It was that hard. On top of that they put on the AC on 16 degrees and directed it towards me so that cold air wouldn't come on other guests. I was really sad and upset and even asked them what the difference is between us and other guests? Our age, skin color or what?

The only reason they get two stars is because the starters were really good and we got discount when we complained. I have never been treated this badly in a restaurant and unfortunately a small discount wasn't enough to not...

Steaks weren't bad, although presentation was hideous. Super basic looking fries next to the steak and nothing else. The waiters aren't easy to get hold of, even though there are a dozen of them around.

However the biggest disappointment of the night was a false promise. It was my partner's birthday and I arranged in advance to have a birthday cake to be brought to us after the meal. I was told that I was in good hands. When we were at the place, I reminded the waiter about the arrangement while my partner was in the bathroom. We finished eating, nothing happened. I indicated to the waiter discreetly that it was time for the cake, no reaction. Indicated again, he thought I was asking for a bill. Starting coming towards us with a bill and I silently mouthed "cake", he went away only to come back with a card reader. When at the table I whispered in his ear "cake", which he finally understood and remembered, but at that point my partner already realised what was going on and it was no...

I've eaten MANY steaks in my time, and I can't decide if this is nr. 1 or 2 on my list of best steaks I've had. The meat was simply perfect. Not one single criticism to find on the steak. If you love that red meat EAT HERE! Cosy restaurant, very formal vibe where you can really sense the quality that the restaurant puts so much effort into. The service is nice, the setting is very cosy and the food is delicious. Not even as expensive as it looks at first sight. The only thing I didn't like was that my steak came with sauce and fries, but my partner was only served steak and fries. I don't know if it's to avoid taking fokus off of the meat, but we would have liked a little decorating or sauce on the side or something. But overall really really good, and the steak was out...
