Cafeteria bar Mercado del Carmen — Restaurant in Málaga

I wish I had found Mercado del Carmen and it’s restaurant 4 days ago- I would have eaten here every day. Food was fresh & truly delicious. I ordered small plates of the pimientos del padron (small grilled peppers) gambas cocidas (cooked shrimp with heads) and rosada plancha (grilled fish). The peppers were full of flavor, salty but not overwhelmingly so. The shrimp was sweet, fresh and melted in my mouth. …(The last time I had shrimp this tasty, I was in Japan- eating it off the boat that caught it!) The fish was mild, expertly cooked and served with olive oil. It was truly an outstanding meal. The wait staff were incredibly kind and patient with me as I tried my broken Spanish. I truly am appreciative of how graceful they were as they allowed me to practice my Spanish skills- thank you so much! I highly recommend this place- exceptional...

This place is amazing! They do not have the paella available until 1pm. We ordered grilled tuna belly, pork belly, sardines, octopus, and fried squids. Paired our food with white wine, everything taste delicious! The prices are fair for the quality of food that you get. The service is good, they don't speak a lot of English so squeeze out your spanish dictionary to order your drinks. The menu has an english translation so it's not hard to order. Me encanta el sitio. Lo unico malo son las bullas que se forman de gentr sobretodo en verano y findes. Yo no tengo nada malo que decir al respecto de la comida ,el precio y menos del servicio. Cada uno puede opinar lo que quiera y esta en su derecho pero han habido trescomentarios que me parecen pateticos pq llevo muchos años yendo y eso no se lo cree nadie. Lo primero lo de la colilla en la comida, que ya no sabemos que hacer para sacar el dinero a los demas. Luego lo de que no os quisieran atender por vuestra condicion de homosexuales cuando estoy harta de ver alli a gays o lesbianas como lo soy yo y jamas me han echo un feo ni a mi ni a nadie q conozco y lo de que no os dejan tomar cafe??? Pero si despues de la comida te ponen chupitos y te ofrecen postre y cafe... Otra cosa es que sean lad cinco y pico de la tarde y sigas alli de hartible sin pensar en esas personas que debrn de cerrar para irse a descansar o a volver a abrir en un rato. Repito que cada uno es libre y habra gente a la que no le guste el sitio la comida ect.. pero inventarse historias para difamar por gusto o no se porque....
