Mesón Donde Carlos — Restaurant in Málaga

We've been to Málaga several times before, and we love the city, and this time we fell in love with it all over again. By chance, we stumbled upon Donde Carlos, and it was a real stroke of luck! Unfortunately, it was only towards the end of our time in Málaga. The first evening was a little hectic, and they explained that there had been a bit of trouble with another guest, but we were so warmly welcomed by the three women that we didn't mind at all and immediately felt at home.

The food... we like it simple, authentic, and without frills, and that's exactly what we got. Our 16-year-old teenager had the most delicious ribs, and we sampled our way through the menu – and were delighted.

The atmosphere... simple, clean, unpretentious, and authentic. This place doesn't need to try to impress with anything artificial; we like it just the way it is. And we're already really looking forward to being able to go back there next year. We'd love to go back...

Delicious food and generous portions for a very competitive price. The service was done by two young women and a more grown lady who spoke mostly Spanish but did their very best to surround me with care. We also laughed together, because I was in shock by the quantity of food I received! I loved the experience and I’d certainly be a regular if I lived in Malaga. A fab discovery just around the corner from our hotel. Friendly with great food and service. So good we went twice and we were delighted both times to be made so welcome and fed so well.
