La Pampa — Restaurant in Madrid

We went here because it's one of the oldest and most original bars in the neighborhood. Also, we checked the reviews and they were quite interesting (some hating the owner, the bar and the food and some others loving it); so we wanted to check ourselves.

The owner is definitely interesting, he has strong character, he's super franquist and españolist, and he's quite old (62 años) and doesn't care about anything much. Apart from that... he was fine, and nice if you talked to him in a friendly and calm way.

About the tapas, many people complaining about how he doesn't give... It's true he doesn't give them... IF YOU DON'T ASK; the moment you ask in a nice way, he gives you generous free tapas with your beer (even if it's a small one).

The tapas were "fine", not good, not bad. We don't know if we will come back (maybe to try the torreznos that we couldn't eat because the kitchen was closed)

Ps: don't say you're catalan, he hates catalans with...

Voy habitualmente a este bar y siempre me atiende u señor de mediana edad muy amable y educado. Hoy he ido sobre las 12:00 con mi mujer a tomar un café y en la barra habia un señor mayor, le he pedido dos cafés con leche en vaso, uno descafeinado y otro normal, cuando me los trae le digo al señor que me cobre y si me hace el favor que me traiga otro azucarillo a lo qu3 el me ha respondido que no, que eso del otro azucarillo que se lo tenía que haber dicho antes, que el no se va a estar dando paseos por dos cafés y he tenido que ir yo como CLIENTE a por el azúcar a la otra punta de la barra. Si lee esta reseña el señor tan amable que me atiende siempre le recomiendo que haga algo con este señor ya que me ha hablado delante de mi mujer y de todo el bar con malas maneras y muy mala educación aparte de que he tenido que ir yo a por el azucarillo que he PAGADO. Porsupuesto no volveré a ese bar nunca mas y como soy del barrio ya me encargaré de hacer que todo el mundo que conozco no vaya a consumir nada allí. ASI NO SE TRATA A...

La mujer del dueño, muy desagradable. Te atiende mal, grosera y borde. Me parece caro el plato combinado 7'50. Es el número 5 en la carta pone,cinta de lomo ,croquetas,pimientos, patatas y pan, alguien ve las patatas? Una estafa me las han cobrado y no me las he comido. Sin mantel, y mala cara porque me he sentado en una mesa para comermelo. La dueña me ha levantado de la mesa para dejarla libre, y no había en ese momento esperando. Y había otra mesa que ya había pagado y terminado de comerse una tosta y estaba con el móvil, y no le dijo nada. Y a mi me dice que si no me importa levantarme para la barra y pagar allí. Una observación los dueños y la clienta, son de nacionalidad de fuera de España y yo soy de nacionalidad Española. Me siento engañada timada y discriminada por racismo, a los españoles. POR SER DE NACIONALIDAD ESPAÑOLA. Absolutamente nada recomendable. Que les aprovechen las patatas que me cobraron y no me las pusieron. Ni tan siquiera el aperitivo, que le ponían a...
