Nice place, very pleasant atmosphere, perfect service. But there is a big gap between the place (and the prices), which could pretend to be noticed by the Michelin guide, and the food, which is far from it.
The meals were average, the bacalao with ratatouille was even rather disappointing. The toro was good, but garnish was limited to a spoonful of very ordinary smashed potatoes. No little extra sauce, pickles, garnish, detail or attention that would bring up the dish a little farther… (except a doubtful non edible big bone). The only really nice touch was the smoked butter served with the bread.
But what puzzled us the most was the tomato. I was expecting some kind of surprise in the Ferran Adria way, a little amazing sauce or tomato ice cream or just something, but no… this is just a tomato salad. So, I would like to say to all those reviewers who are so delighted to pay so much for a simple tomato : go learn how to drop a bit of olive oil on a ripe tomato, it’s within your reach !!!
