Sophisticated Gourmet Eating Experience
Trasgu is located not far from Metro Valdebernardo, and the dominates a large open space close to the shopping centre Valdebernardo.
From the outside
The restaurant dominates a large open terrace with cover from the sun, with seating arrangement for at least 15 tables offering diners the opportunity to dine outside. Large open windows present the restaurants position within the street.
From the Inside
The restaurant has two sides, one for pure dining and the other for a more local bar dining experience both serving the same menu but with a different ambience. The fine dining part, offers a natural look with a very large blackboard showcasing different dishes. With an open area on the ground floor and a more intimiate dining experience on the 2nd floor, options for everyone.
The bar side is very chic and cosy with a good selection of modern tapas to choose from, standing at the bar or dining at one of the various seating options within the bar.
Menu
The menu is split into two distinct areas, one offering a full al la carte menu and the other offering a menu del dia (daily menu) both of which are recommended. Fully diverse for most palates, with various meat options, vegetarian and salads which is a rarity in Madrid. The Mene del dia is also one of of fav options for lunch as it is quick and very yummy.
Prices
Prices are competitive for the area, however the al la carte menu is a little more pricey as the food is prepared on a professional level with a lot of detail going into the preparation and presentation, exceptional value for money.
Food
We have been frequently eating at the Trasgu for over 5 years and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food that has been served, always a surprise to return and see something different and believe me when I say this, seeing something different is a GOOD THING.
The menu del dia is great value and they offer something different each time, a menu fit for most palates. It is also clearly visible on a chalkboard on the wall outside the restaurant so you can choose before the waiter gets to you.
The al la carte menu is much more sophisticated offering a more gourmet experience with a large selection to choose from including meats, fish and vegetables. We always go for a mix so we can have a taste of each sharing culinary experiences within the group.
The food was just divine, every part of the eating experience was memorable and our taste buds were exploding with the quality of professionally prepared ingredients. The recommended dish from the group was the Tataki Salmon, which was totally yummy leaving us wanting more.
The deserts are also a signature quality of the Trasgu kitchen, preparing home made, taste bud squashing dishes. Our personal favourite was the Tiramisu, which left out taste buds wanting more.
Drinks
Trasgu offer an incredibly large selection of wines both local and international. We had the opportunity to test a wine from Germany which was the cause of a good debate within our group as one of our Spanish friends frequently visits Germany and they are not famous for wines, however the waiter presented a bottle of German wine that surpassed his expectations and really surprised him at how tasty it was.
A big thank you to the waiting staff who are real food and wine experts offering skilled advice when necessary.
Customer Service
Trasgu staff are incredibly professional and know what customer service is along with a high level of culinary experience including offering the right balance of drinks with food presented.
A heart warming thank you to all of the staff including the owner who goes beyond the call of duty ensuring everyone has a memorable eating experience.
Recommendations
Fully recommended and you should go out of your way to visit the Trasgu as they offer something most other restaurants in Madrid cannot find, a true personality within the Restaurant industry backed up by years of experience serving incredible food with flawless staff.
