For anyone who knows me I don't ever leave reviews! But on this occasion I feel it's well worth it.
Yesterday afternoon 26th Oct I was just returning home from a trip to Jerez which on any day is a long journey.. as I got closer to home i was starting get hungry and thought well I have to pass the Flying Squirrel in Monte Duquesa so it would be rude not to pop in! I didn't realize just how busy Sunday lunch there was going to be!
As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Stewart & Jackie saying there really busy and they probably won't be able to get me in, which really wasn't an issue as I just landed on them without warning (as I always do) I had a couple of lovely cold glasses of vino blanco with Stewart passing me and saying no promises.
But within half an hour I was told that's your table and minutes after my thick vegetable soup arrived followed by a very large chicken dinner cooked to perfection!
I use the FS a lot and I'm used to getting top service but yesterday was above and beyond!
Not only was it great food and service BUT the presentation of the food on a wooden platter then you help yourself onto the plate was just fantastic...
And this got me thinking that it's not just front of house Stewart & Jackie working non stop but the guys behind the scenes and having a superb chef are just as important as it's all part of the smooth flow of the operation. And I personally just wanted to say thankyou!
Finally I just would really like to say something about Stewart! I've read some comments from previous customers who don't like Stewart's approach to people but all I would say to them is seek medical help! Or get a sense of humor transplant!
If your from the UK you WILL remember Fawlty Towers and esspecialy Basil Faulty! If I can pay Stewart a compliment of the highest degree is this.. Stewart thank you for giving Monte Dequesa its very own Fawlty Towers!
I'm sure all the true customers will all agree and know exactly what I mean!
I don't think I've ever being in there and not laughed!
Keep the magic...
Read moreWent on their Wednesday night theme tapas as our first visit. I ordered fish & chips and roast chicken. I am a big fan of roast chickens or anything chicken. The fish was good but chips weren’t consistently fried, some were much darker & oily than the golden brown ones. Chicken was so dry & chewy that I can’t even finish my thigh after trying to eat the drumstick. The staff was nice enough to serve another portion of the fries to us but a lady did have to say that some fries are dark & golden 🤨 when she dropped it off. I just had fries the day before from a restaurant across and all their fries were golden, crispy outside & soft inside. So were the week before at the...
