We spotted this place from a bar across the road in Elveira and did a quick Google search out of interest.. after reading the reviews we instantly made a reservation and the next night made our way over the bridge and down the path beside the motorway exit. Well worth the few minutes trip, hands down the best food we have had in Elveira.
Julia & her husband are wonderful unassuming hosts. A really comfortable room with a bit of old world charm & the best loos in all of Marbella.
Thanks for the beautiful olive oil and warm crispy bread. I had the prawn special with red onion and a wonderful mild yellow Thai curry followed by the best steaks we have had in a long time.
We instantly regretted one of us not going for the octopus in red curry as a main and decided to book for the next night only to find they were fully booked.
A really loved varied menu and wonderful hospitality from this...
Read moreA first class experience. We really enjoyed the food - we were hungry after a long day out and were made to feel exceptionally welcome. The fire was lit and the food was delightful and generous. I must also make special mention of our host - an exceptional gentleman; Attentive, friendly, genuine and extremely professional. Our chef came through and checked on us. She was also delightful and clearly excellent in her work. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone without exception and look forward to returning soon. It’s a tough gig for anyone in the catering profession at the moment but great quality independent establishments like this deserve our support because we should want them to not only survive but thrive. This restaurant absolutely deserves to prosper. Loved it! Best wishes from our entire group and we can’t wait to see you again soon!...

Uli and his team offer beautifully prepared dishes and great service. Formerly known as Papagayos, the new owners have brought back the charm and ambience we missed so much. We will be back again on our next trip to Elviria, guaranteed! Our last visit/review was October 21. Its now Feb 22 and we were delighted to see Alma de Papagayos open. The food and service did not disappoint. The Prawns Pil-Pil were amazing, much less oil than most and really tasty. Great atmosphere sitting near a roaring Fire. Book this amazing little restaurant if you want fine dining and attentive service. Visited again Feb 23 and its still amazing. Great to see this intimate restaurante doing well! The Pork (pictured) is beautifully...
