Great for locals, terrible for visitors. They WILL rip you off. Beware! Make sure you know what you’re ordering and don’t let them talk you up or you’ll suddenly find yourself with a full portion tapas or large 70 euro playes of hamon. Lots of indidents where people we know have gone in for food and left with a bitter taste in their mouth by what they have been upsold. September 2025 .It was our first visit to elviria, and on arrival on the first Day of our holiday we visited El barracon and we were most impressed by the friendly welcome and service we received from one of the members of staff Barbra ,the tapas was excellent and from then on we visited every day either just for drinks or food we got to know all the staff over our 11 day holiday they were all equally efficient and friendly and always excellent food .We will definitely be returning!😊...

The food was very good and you can get smaller portions, which is great (not paella though, that's huge and it's for 2-3 people, but cooked fresh).

I highly recommend going to the bar and checking the daily pintxos (different foods, which can be served as tapas). "Caracoles en salsa" (snails) are absolutely delicious!

They are understaffed though, so the service isn't that great, a couple of people try to cover so many tables. The tables are close to one-another, so it may feel a...
