I was refused entry into La Cabane Marbella because I was wearing a sleeveless shirt – yes, you read that correctly, at a beach club IN SUMMER. At no point during the reservation process, or on the official dress code guidelines did it specify that sleeveless shirts were not permitted. We checked carefully.
The fact that a supposedly high-end beach club of all places thinks it’s appropriate to enforce arbitrary, unstated rules is beyond laughable, it is infact idiotic. This is a venue by the water, where people are in swimwear, sarongs, shorts, and flip-flops, yet I was denied access because I wasn’t wearing sleeves?
Frankly, if we couldn’t afford to be at La Cabane, we wouldn’t even be in Spain in the peak of summer. So to be treated as though we didn’t fit the image they had in their heads, despite meeting every unspoken standard, it was insulting, classist, and out of touch.
This wasn’t about elegance or exclusivity, this was about inflexibility, poor communication, and frankly, a ridiculous lack of self-awareness. If you want to be taken seriously as a luxury venue, your standards should start with clarity, consistency, and respect for your guests, not nonsense gatekeeping based on clothing that wouldn’t even be out of place at a Michelin-starred beachfront restaurant.
La Cabane may pride itself on prestige, but behind the façade is a team that seems more focused on enforcing absurd dress codes than delivering hospitality. For a place that claims to be world-class, they’ve certainly nailed the arrogance, but nothing else.
Avoid unless you enjoy being embarrassed and treated like you walked into a boardroom in swimwear which, ironically, would probably be fine if you had sleeves on.

Read moreThis is the worst place I have been to…Where to start? We came on a Thursday end of August. We paid 2x275 € prepayment for two beach beds, the other options were 800 € and above. Let’s start with the beds… they were dirty, old and the D&G towels were faded from years of sun damage. We received two fruit bowls as a compliment and let me tell you … the fruits were either starting to rot or were very bad quality. The pool was dusty and the are around the poop as well. The pillows around the whole venue were either old or with BROWN spots. We had credit of 200€ which we decided to put to use and then leave the place as it was looking awful. We went to the restaurant are as we noticed that the menu for the pool was limited. They told us that in order to eat at the restaurant we had to make a separate reservation and spend minimum 100€ per person. We decided to eat from the pool menu and the quality of the food was awful. The oysters were small, the prawns were not cleaned correctly and the lobster was funny tasting (I’m guessing it was not fresh, it took them 30 mins to bring the lobster salad). Let’s talk about the c crowd there… only influencers and trashy people… the staff was also very slow and not nice at all… and we figured out why when the bill came. There was a 10% service charge, which was definitely not deserved. In conclusion we paid more than 700€ for the worst 3 hours of our Marbella visit. If you want to go and take photos and maybe be treated bad, you should definitely check the venue out. But if you are going to expect good food and a nice beach day experience, you should rethink 100%. Hope my comment doesn’t get deleted :) maybe management and staff should rethink their job obligations and start putting some effort in order to reach the amazing places...
